Aww... Gort is learning to navigate the web-s. You must be a proud robot parent. An interesting idea about the edge of the ceiling for navigating indoors. Some other projects slap some Matrix codes (not all matrix codes are called QR codes), works quite well in places like warehouses to move pallets. Putting some infrared beacons around the house is also an option.
Yeah, I have thought about Matrix Codes and IR beacons... I think IR beacons will be how Gort will home in on his charging dock, but otherwise, I'm hoping to make him navigate without any extra equipment installed in the house. I guess that's part of the challenge; making to robot adapt to it's environment, rather than the environment being adapted to it.
great video man, i dont quite catch yet what u are looking for with the robot but the hole mapping the area situation is a really hard problem, greetings from Argentina!
The long-term goal is to make a robot that can do almost any mundane household task... mostly I have cleaning in mind. But I have a long way to go before I get there. 😁
Keep on sharing, Joe! I am enjoying your content!
Love this. Just found you. I have been working on my rover since pandemic.

what library are you using to visualize the point cloud data?
I'm just using PyPlot. (matplotlib.pyplot) Not really ideal, but it's easy to use and gets the job done. :)
