I had to pull off the road. Driving in a pouring grey rain going to work, sipping my rock star energy drink, just another insignificant day. Didn't pull off due to the rain.. I did it because I just had to say.. I've been a DH since the release of their 1st album. Love the screamy hard stuff, look in my collection and you will find L.O.G and Devildriver as well. But it is songs like this that intwine with the very fiber of my being.. It's a song that years from now, I will remember this very moment when I hear it. It creates emotions from nowhere and takes you to a wonderfuk place.. Thank you DH for creating such wonderful music. Never stop.
One of my favorites. Truly, I think that this song is about not giving in to people who ridicule your beliefs and think you're crazy for maintaining those beliefs in today's world. Of course, one would automatically think of my statement as it applies to religion. However, I'm not just talking about religious views. I'm talking about anything that you believe in. If someone mocks you for what you stand for, just tell them "your fool I will not be."
what makes demon hunter a great band is clean lyrics, there's no swear words and they make sure that their own music is a positive influence while being relatable to most people at the same time. By far that's a rare quality that this music band delivers
I am a Fleet Marine Corpsman, after my first tour in combat my mind and emotions stopped working. For the last few months i haven't been able to feel anything, I couldn't smile or laugh or even cry. I heard this song for the first time last week, and immediatly started crying, I haven't stopped since. This song has brought me back to reality, and has allowed me to feel and live again.
I love this song; it shows me God's forgiveness so clear: how no matter how many times I play in the mud and feel so sorry for it, He cleans me up, forgives me, and even makes me stronger, like a stone. Even when I'm reminded of all the stupid things I've done against Him, God has always proven to be always by my side, making me a stone, unaffected, immune to all of satan's lies and tricks. Now I don't have to beat myself up for Jesus dying for my insolence, my stupidity that I was born with. Praise You God for forgiving me
This song is incredibly amazing. I have not listened to a song that touched my heart this way in a long time. Wow. now this is all I listen to. I really love Demon Hunter. Their music is amazing, from Summer of Darkness to True Defiance. We need more bands like this.
because those things don't matter to these guys. they don't throw the crowds what they want, they give them what they need. a truly good band that helps you get back on your feet when you're down and encourages you when you give up. that's what this band is. that's why they chose their this path over the one you mentioned.
u cant not be christian anymore it says the bible that no one can pluck u out of the fathers hand meaning god not evin the father him self can pluck u out so if god can surly not make u lose ur salvation u or noone else can neighther
dylan whitt One can turn their back on Christ and stop following Him for something else. It's quite possible. That Once-Saved-Always-Saved theology is actually not truly biblical, and many believe, damaging. The Lord can harden the heart of a pharoah after the Pharoah decides to reject the request of Moses who is asking for him to let the Israelites go. This states two things for me. 1. People can reject God, and come back to him if they truly mean it at any time before they leave this world. Two directions in this walk. Towards him, and against him. 2. The Lord can harden the hearts of those who reject Him if it is in His will, and I feel like this is something that God can do to us sometimes as well. Not to say that this has happened to Chaid Catalan. What would I know about Chaid to make a claim like that over the internet? However, I believe there is mention in the Bible that someone who is saved by Christ, but who then rejects Christ afterwards at some point, is not likey to, or cannot be saved. I think this is why, where if you reject Christ, and choose to follow a different path, your heart eventually becomes hardened to him, and it's not likely that you will choose to come back.
Steven Dorsey I don't remember what you are mentioning....maybe this is a bad paraphrase or your interpretation. I am not a hyper Once-saved-always-saved person but that theology upholds the will and sovereignty of God and by what you are saying in terms of God hardening a heart then you inhernetly agree that God did it an planned it .In terms of His foreknowledge,as in the Lamb that was slain before the foundations of the earth, this implies that God,in fact, actually knew who His children at that time as well...and if so THEN the one with the hardened heart was never TRULY saved in the first place. NO?...and therefor once NOT saved always NOT saved. correct? We just happen to have no Idea who is truly saved and who is not becasue we can't see the timeline of eternity but we can know for ourselves at least. remind me of the verse about rejecting Christ.. I could be wrong myself
I like to think that God stands outside of time like a man looking upon a rive or pool of water, and it's not reprobation so much as he knows certain people will deny Him or turn against Him, but at points in their life they chose to, or have the opportunity to, heartfeltly turn their life over to Christ. Meaning, there are at least periods when God accepts them, or gives them the opportunity to utilize their free will to choose a different path. Christ said that "with God all things are possible." And the Bible also constantly states that no matter what happens God's Plan is going to happen and no man or event will succeed in stoping Him and His Plan for us, though he/she/they might try. Do you understand that means that if a man that would have hardened his heart adn rebelled against God, instead turned to God and became a devoted follower, that God's Plan would still happen exactly as he planned? That's what I believe. That God would just use someone else who was turned against him that the Good things he hoped to achieve would win out over the suffering that occurred. And the God would far outweigh all the suffering that this world has become. That is that as many people as possible will be saved and have a home in the New Jerusalem. God will not start the Apocalypse until the VER LAST person that will be saved on this Earth in all of time has been saved. Only then will he initiate the final stages of his plan and start the Rapture and then the end times. There are hard things that God has done that we do not understand why it had to be done that away, or it could just be a hard thing in general. Like the Egyptian pharoah, who it appears did not have a choice but to have his heart hardened that he would double-cross the people of Israel that he did not know. God made him put the Israelites into slavery, and denied them freedom, and made sure that he would have ot cause all that suffering to the Egyptians. But maybe God was willing to do that, but didn't like it, because of what would come about afterwards. With Christ's sacrifice all people could be saved, even those guilty of the vilest of sins. And maybe God knew that that period of suffering would suck for everyone involved, but He himself would come down in the form of a Man and suffer worse suffering than anyone else on the Planet and afterwards even the Egyptians could be saved thereafter and have a place in the New Jerusalem. It's hard to understand how God could know how everything is going to turn out to the last detail, yet somehow people are supposed to supposedly have free will and forge their own way. Personallly, I think God sees everything including our decisions, and for God it seems set, but maybe not entirely. For in our perceptions, we could make any decision given the opportunity at any time, and that holds true unequivocably. I think God being outside of time and space, for he would have to be in order to be the creator of the universe, allows him to see our hearts and our decisions before we make them, but at the same time as we go along our decisions are not entirely pre-determined after all. We could choose to swallow our pride in situations or act in anger and cause pain and sadness to those around us. Our Free Will is not as arbitrary as skeptics will assume when discussing a God they do not respect or adher to. Personally, I think the only thing that is totally set is God's Plan for the world and everything in it, as well as what comes after. Now God will weight the importance of all the people he will save in general over those who he knows are not going to turn. And sometimes, he might opt to harden the hearts of a few so that he could save many. If Israel would not have been enslaved, adn then freed in that manner, they would not have the historical proof throughout their becoming the Nation they have that God was real thereafter. The Children would have fully decided for themselves that God was a fairy tale, and Christ would not have died for us, and EVERYONE would have no place in the New Jerusalem. In the end, God is all about saving the maximum number of souls that he can. He is always acting in the best interest of not man, but his glorification. And that sound harsh until you realize what that means. God's Glorification is the reinstatement of a perfect world with people who have been washed free of sin, with no suffering or sadness whatsoever, and His people will glorify him with an eternity of Him having a people to love who will love him back as their God. Like the ultimate Father. That's his endgame, and he is doing everything in his power to save as many people as he possibly can. You know, they say the woman who wrote the Harry Potter book series broke down crying after she finished typing the last Harry Potter book in the series because of all the characters she loved that had died to reach the conclusion.
can make you cry and prepare you for war at the same time while you feel nothing in the world will hurt you. this is what needs to be popular and heard all over the world.
I liked this answer because it seemed honest. It can be difficult to find faith, but it's there to be found. There's nothing quite like a life with your Creator! Take care mate and bless.
It's wonderful and just inexplicable. He didn't appear in a dream, nor did He give me "a night in hell," nor did He give me this wild vision. I was reading His word, and He just opened my eyes. Crushed my heart. And He showed who I was, how awfully my sin grieves him, and He showed me Christ, who I then realized had died for me. He had died for me, a sinner in the midst of millions of sinners. The best way I can say it is He opened my heart and showed me Himself. God forbid I forget that night.
I have been going through so much crap lately, and it has just been dragging me down... to points where I when I would cross the street I thought it would just be best if a car hit me. This song... This song is just the thing I needed. I plan on listening to it every morning and evening.
"need more bands like this"' yes i agree but there can only be 1 demon hunter they are the ! and only who speak the truth and will forever be truly inspiring in all aspects of music and following the word of christ!! hail demon hunters alike..... I have lost faith many times but DH always brings back the truth of my salvation..
Such a great song. I kind of wish I had the physical copy of the deluxe version. I could always download it but I like physical copies. Thanks for posting the song!
One day I will come on to a Demon Hunter video and see people talking about the music instead of debating religion. Everyone has a view on it and just because it's not the same as yours doesn't mean it is wrong. This song is beautiful regardless of religion.
its funny that a song like this can bring up so much with such simplicity im amazed so many more people dont rave about this song, the only reason i can see is that it is very soft for a metal band i hope they play this live
you've got a point... wanting gets you nothing, it's a fact that wanting gets you nothing. but you gotta remember, nobody deserves anything, if you really want something then go out and fight for it. work your ass off and make sure that nobody beats you to it. stand up like a man and work for what you want. even someone that doesn't believe in god can appreciate the power or labor and will.
THANK YOU! SWEET BABY JESUS THE LIGHT HAS BEEN SEEN! by the way, just found the band, and every song i have heard has been pretty heavy. and then i come to this i hear violins, very refreshing. i think I'm gonna fall in love with this band LOL
Regardless of your religions, I think we can agree this is an awesome song that is moving in more ways than one. I'm a true believer in music and its ability to unite people regardless of their ethnicity or beliefs. This is a good song, regardless of whether the band is Christian or not. Their faith doesn't make the song good or anything so faith shouldn't even be in the comments unless it's something positive or is discussing the meaning of the lyrics or something. Rock on \m/ -_- \m/
I'm Pagan and I love this band, Christianity as a faith is a wonderful path to follow if its right for you. Demon hunter has brought something to the table that is important in spirituality -music- to the table. the faith now has music to reach out to a modern crowd. or if not bring people full circle to the church the message is there. did not Jesus say "my father has many kingdoms, I go to make a place for you" it does not matter how you get to the mountain top as long as you get there.
Hello people... Again. :P I would like to apologize for perpetuating an argument on this page. I hope no one gets away from what matters here, and that is the music. Demon Hunter has done a marvelous job creating lovely intricacies of sound for us to enjoy. God bless, - Bethany :)
The fact that it's DH is what makes it work for me.. because there is an honesty there that many other "artists" either don't have, or have handed to them by a producer. I do "like" the song, which is a positive thing considering it's my least favorite of the album... I don't "hate" anything I've heard from them.
That's a very good question! I am a Christian. I may fall at times but that question will always confront me. Too many hypocrites. I was one once and to be honest, i find myself there again. If I choose to believe this way, i have but one choice... Get back up and fight. Stand up and live...
Wow... Never read a comment like this before dude. So true when you look at it. I don't believe in God but people do have joy when it comes to Jesus. I use to go to church for about 10 years and yeah, they really happy about god and have a lot of faith in him. Sometimes I wish I could have that faith and joy when it comes to that stuff.
I found the album online for free cause I couldn't wait!! I'm buying the cd though on the release day. :) I have always bought their cd's, they are one of the only bands I still buy from.
I had to pull off the road. Driving in a pouring grey rain going to work, sipping my rock star energy drink, just another insignificant day. Didn't pull off due to the rain.. Richard McLean Wonderfuk lmao. ( yeah ive seen the correction )
Dazliariuz Lol ya, my anti-text prediction stance leaves me to creating some fun words some times 😃
This song, gives me a boost in the hard times
Such an incredibly beautiful song, on so many levels.
One of the best things of DH is that their awesomeness ranges from bone-crushing, brutal metalcore to powerful, heart-touching ballads.
One of my favorites. Truly, I think that this song is about not giving in to people who ridicule your beliefs and think you're crazy for maintaining those beliefs in today's world. Megan Stone uploads "I Am A Stone." Cute.

This song, gahh, I can listen to it like 50000 times..
i just heard this song today and have all ready listen to it over 60 time not even joking.
+Arianna Nicole Same here. X-)
when I hear this tune, it encourages me, yet, it also makes me cry. brilliant tune. God holds the hand of those who cry.
This song hit me like a bus. I'm in love with it now :)
I am a Fleet Marine Corpsman, after my first tour in combat my mind and emotions stopped working. For the last few months i haven't been able to feel anything, I couldn't smile or laugh or even cry. This perfectly describes some of my relationships...
All of their lyrics are so amazing it brings tears to my eyes. Demon Hunter is by far my Favorite band.
"I, Emma Stone."
Gosh darnit
Wow, amazing song and lyrics!! I especially love the lyrics, "And when you think this is the end,
you will find Me there where I have always been..."
the scars don't write a song for me at all
This song is incredibly amazing. I have not listened to a song that touched my heart this way in a long time. Wow. now this is all I listen to. I really love Demon Hunter. Their music is amazing, from Summer of Darkness to True Defiance. We need more bands like this.
Haha Megan stone. Get it?
Bah, I'm dense. I don't get it. :\
Steven Dorsey
The poster's last name is Stone. The name of the song is "I Am a Stone". Therefore, the title of the song is literally true.
I thought the same thing!!
Mileena Anderson No points for second place.
Exactly what I was thinking
because those things don't matter to these guys. they don't throw the crowds what they want, they give them what they need. a truly good band that helps you get back on your feet when you're down and encourages you when you give up. that's what this band is. that's why they chose their this path over the one you mentioned.
Well i´m not christian, anymore, i guess but i listened this band for a along time and really is amazing! :D

This song seriously got me out of a bad rut I have been in lately with depression. This song is so beautiful.
Immune to pain when CHRIST is in your veins
Usually slow songs don't pump me up but the chorus of this song really does!
Many thanks! I've got a long drive back home to Jacksonville on Sunday, and I'm making my Demon Hunter playlist of all their ballady stuff. :)
Still one of Demon Hunter's best songs.
The power and message resonates still even
after 11 years.
"Your fool I will not be" Awesome song! I keep coming back to this song on here and probably should just buy the album.
I nearly cry when I hear his voice. Epic song!
can make you cry and prepare you for war at the same time while you feel nothing in the world will hurt you. this is what needs to be popular and heard all over the world.
amazing song, amazing voice, amazing message, amazing band.
I love this song so much
This conversation rocks! Caleb, you have my support friend.
Great band, I just discovered them and really appreciated a good Christian metal band.
Love this song
I liked this answer because it seemed honest. It can be difficult to find faith, but it's there to be found. There's nothing quite like a life with your Creator!
Take care mate and bless.

Wow. One of the best songs I have heard for a while. Time to get the CD!
It's wonderful and just inexplicable. He didn't appear in a dream, nor did He give me "a night in hell," nor did He give me this wild vision. I was reading His word, and He just opened my eyes. Ah, another hit! Love them.

This is an absolutely beautiful song..
This really helps with the personal struggles I am going through right now, as far as steeling one's self for the flak of anti-theism.
And thank you for the opportunity.
Adieu, and have a good day!
One day I will come on to a Demon Hunter video and see people talking about the music instead of debating religion. Everyone has a view on it and just because it's not the same as yours doesn't mean it is wrong.

Masterpiece.
Regardless of your religions, I think we can agree this is an awesome song that is moving in more ways than one. I am convinced now, he is the best voice on this earth....and i mean it
Demon Hunter can have songs that can prepare you for war and send shivers down your spine in one album.
I raise my arms to music like this to praise Him.
this cuts to the soul makes you feel love
it's so amazing... so amazing.
Again. :P
I would like to apologize for perpetuating an argument on this page. I hope no one gets away from what matters here, and that is the music.
Demon Hunter has done a marvelous job creating lovely intricacies of sound for us to enjoy.
God bless,
- Bethany :)
FINALY!!!!! Now we can all stop agruing and all get on with our lives!!!
The fact that it's DH is what makes it work for me.. because there is an honesty there that many other "artists" either don't have, or have handed to them by a producer. I do "like" the song, which is a positive thing considering it's my least favorite of the album... I don't "hate" anything I've heard from them.
Even if I am a Stone, this song moved me......
That's a very good question! I am a Christian. I may fall at times but that question will always confront me. Too many hypocrites. I was one once and to be honest, i find myself there again. If I choose to believe this way, i have but one choice... Get back up and fight. Stand up and live...
wow. i love dis band so much.
One of the best DH songs... Ever...
God will be ever awaiting you in the kingdom of heaven, for you show more love than many who call themselves "Christians." God bless you good sir.
Love this song, love this band!
I LOVE THIS SONG!!!
