Thanks! I've actually done that, but I still find myself breaking those minimums sometimes. Gotta stick to my guns!

+Monica Brown It can feel scary to set a minimum, but consider setting a minimum on each piece...so centerpieces don't fall below X and that can help you set a minimum on each event you bid. You can do it!

I’ve been in business for 18 years. I own a floral studio and I’ve enjoyed it so much. it’s been a wonderful business. I’ve had wonderful clients. Designed beautiful weddings but over the years I’ve I wanted more business and afraid at the same time to get it. My business skills are stagnant. I’m not ready to give up the business. I love it so much. And then I came across your site, your classes, your coaching. Devine intervention for sure . I just can’t get enough of these videos. I love your honesty and the way you present all these topics. It feels like you are directly speaking to me. I definitely am a fan and looking forward to taking the floral math class. Thank you so much.

Enjoying your videos, Alison.!I seem to do better at having a minimum per piece than I do per event unless it falls on a holiday. We get a lot of last minute (two week notice) destination weddings and sometimes they just want a few bouquets and boutonnieres. So we can usually easily add that into our existing event(s) for the week. Those last minute weddings are high quality florals but low $$$ because of the small number of arrangements.

I am coming up to my businesses 1 year mark her in California & have found an evolution of pricing, budgets, packages. I like your statement of ...."based on the details you sent , I would estimate a starting budget of X for what you requested. If that is in line with your budget & you would like to arrange a time to talk, I would be happy to chat with you about the details."
I will use that statement...Thank you so much.

I really enjoyed your video and your so right about not having a set price, this could work out with you getting less and not getting paid for your work. Also I understand about weeding put the clients that do not want to pay what your worth. Thanks again Alison.

Holy smokes! $5,000 for flowers at a wedding? 😨😨I guess I'm never getting married 😬😬😬 how many arrangements does a typical wedding need? And does this include centerpieces for the reception? Oh my gosh....... I want to start my own floral business, but I'm terrified of these numbers.......how do you make sure you have enough flowers on hand??? What if you put them together the night before and they die by morning? Oh my gosh, what am I getting myself into? damn you beautiful creations of nature, must you be so alluring? 😰😰😰😰

You might want to work at a flower shop to see how the business works if you're truly interested in starting a business. The best way to get the ins and outs is by doing it in real life. You'll see how it works. I have a lot of free training and also paid courses for florists on my website at realflowerbusiness.com

Not everyone spends $5,000 on flowers for their wedding. If you really want to start a floral design business, you may want to get some experience at a flower shop first. It's essential to have confidence before you take $5k from a client for their wedding flowers! With proper conditioning, design techniques, floral recipes and proper ordering you can create beautiful long-lasting arrangements (that won't die overnight!) and also turn a profit as a florist.
