The photo and drones videos in the evening would look so much better - you're right. Did you ever consider handing over the camera to one of the natives who maybe knows what they're talking about? Terrible history lessons indeed, if I had this opportunity I wouldn't have relied just on the beauty of the place it's like you're being deliberatey annoying.
