Awesome video about whats involved in a day sail. Man, the more I watch your vids, the more I want one. I really do think about it every day! I'm pretty sure that sometime in 2025, I'll start the process. Have to wait till the economy improves first.
That looks like the Grenadines I remember...beautiful sunny cruising one moment, unexpected squalls the next. My partners face looked very similar to princesses in that last clip. 😮
That was super interesting - while it's great to see the scenery (& it is!), it's really good to see what needs to happen before, during & after the day. Well done to you both ⛵✌🤙
Good day hard work all the sails. I am also a pilot i bought a motorized yacht a Bering 70 my Jurney start on the 15th of june. I have to learn evrything to pilot a 80t boat and sail around the world hope we meet somewhere Greetings José
Hi Princess & Jamie, its brilliant to see you go through the process of setting up your riggiing & sails which was very enjoyable your about the only Captain I know that goes through this procedure with a modicum of duty, IMHO, these other sailors lack your finesse Jamie . . hey Princess always looking so pretty on camera, lucky man Jamie, cheers big ears !
Sorry for your garden being plowed over, my wife Maria is a Master Gardner ( flowers) and I know how she cherishes her 'babys'.....if you come North to New England I sure she will give you some of her plants..
Aye m8’s! Nice to see your prepares and all. Personally I could have had a _lot_ more of the actual sailing in a vid like this. And I reckon most of your followers would agree, since this is more of a sailing channel than heaps of others on YT. Anyways, how did the looping herbs manage?
Ta MiQ...some exciting sailing coming up soon!... Herbs were fine until recently... They didn't seem to like the weather in the Bahamas!... All gone now.
Hey Jamie, nice episode - it's good to see how different people plan and execute a days sail. One question, is it a "prodder" because it's retractable? The bowsprit on my old trimaran is removable, but I never heard anyone (not even a rigger) call it a prodder. Thanx!
@@SailingLifeonJupiter Thank you, sir! Hey Jamie, who's coming up with new nautical terms? Don't they know we're overladen with words already? I'm going to start creating nonsensical nautical terms just to mess with everyone!
Brakes, undercarriage, magneto, pitch, fuel...set the QFE 😂. What do you Fly commercially?I only had a private pilot's licence and that was many years ago as having a family made it unaffordable
Haha, cheer David... We'll last job was A330 and A320 before that was B777... Id love to go for a buzz in a littlely again, but like you say... Pretty expensive to do for fun.
@@SailingLifeonJupiter Yes my interest in retirement is now inexorably moving towards boats as you get more exposure time to what you spend your money on. A better bang for yer buck. 😀
@@SailingLifeonJupiter they must be kidding or uninformed.. 5083/86 Ally is tough as old boots and has great elasticity......and marine safe..and thats why its used on high latitude blue water boats.
Hi CAPTAIN ...40% ppl fully vaccinated ( n 50% one dose ) in US...If u plan to fly again, why don't u try US skies...off duty u can still sail..u both take care. GOD BLESS U..
One of your better proactive informative videos Jamie, keep up the good videos..
Cool, cheers Ricki

That breakfast/ lunch looked great! I'll have to try that combo.
Cheers Robert

Reminds me of the movie "Water World" when she cleaned up the potting soil.
Ahh.. Dirt! I've seen it! It's real, somewhere over the horizon.

Ah cool Jose... Catch you out here soon!
Those Pre-sail/Pre-flight checks are something I've not seen anyone else perform. Your airmanship is showing in your seamanship. :)
Hah, yeah I guess so Stephen... But certainly better to identify budding problems before they become serious. Tks for watching.

If you didn’t know Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the UK. So the original explorers must off thought Petit Nevis was a miniature version.
Ah right…likely!
thanks for the day sail - really informative - be blessed

I thought it was Aussie slang for something that protrudes, like a flippable bowsprit.

Not at all... Haven't got any! I'm not aware of that being a trait of ally.
