Thank you for taking us again to Tokyo. It brought back happy memories with my late husband. I lost him last March to pancreatic cancer. He actually introduced me to your vlog pre- pandemic days and since then, together we would watch you. Take care and I hope to visit Japan again with my 2 daughters and relive happy memories of my husband, Lester. Enjoy your travels. Sincerely, Carol
We were in Japan a few weeks ago and Yanaka Ginza is one of the places we went to. Fun fact: There are a total of 7 cat statues hidden in plain sight. If you find them all, they said that your wish will come true. Unfortunately, when we were there, we couldn't find them all because some shops were still closed because it was before lunch time and some of the cats are hidden inside shops. The cat figures were made by students who frequented the area and were inspired by actual cats who used to hang around the arcade. Another fun fact: One of the locals also mentioned that the cats used to hang around the stairs that Rion showed at 16:19 during sunset. I miss Japan already. I hope we can come back soon.
5:36 The statue of Ota Dokan is so cool! 12:10 😌🙏! 16:56 🧃😣😅interesting! 18:42 so cute 👹😄! 20:51 300 JPY Isobemochi, it will be delicious if paired with seaweed😋👍! 22:52 120JPY Menchi-katsu 😋! 23:55 250JPY Tokoroten, yay! I should be try when I come to Japan 😋! 27:43 560JPY meccha Oishiii cherry pie🍒😍😋 with coffee latte 🥤! 33:08 Such lovely flowers😍🤗! 33:23 sanpo to Ueno Park Enjoy more😌! 37:19 No wonder I think Rion’s video today is particularly clear😂👌👍👏! Thank you so much Rion, let’s keep walking part 2 to Tokyo local town, YanakaGinza Food Street, a good place to buy souvenirs, although some stores are not open🤝!
The round stroll in the northen part of Tokyo so different in atmosphere, combination of peaceful slopes and flat residential parts with a local shopping street offering traditional food, quite an experience. The cherry pie seemed so yummy, by the way. Visiting the shrines added a cultural vibe to the video. Unfortunately my eye is not that trained to catch the difference of the new lense but your explaining in the end was therefore of great help. Thanks for another interesting video. Looking forward to following adventures! GAAOOO...
It's so much fun to be strolling along with you, Rion! I really like the local town vibe with its hidden beauty and quietness. There's always something interesting to see and experience.
Hey Rion, I just wanted to thank you for your videos. We visited Japan 6 months ago and your videos were a tremendous help. Thank you and best of luck with everything
Gd Morning! Managed to catch up with your vid before I start work. Always a great to see more local places! Loving it, pls keep them coming Rion. Hv a great weekend! Was wondering your vid quality is diff today, then i realised new cam lens! Love it.
Aloha Rion totally love this video. We visited Yanaka Ginza many years ago and it’s time to revisit next time. That cherry pie looked so good! Keep walking!
Hi Rion…..went to Sugamo yesterday and visited Rikugien Gardens as per your video. Loved the calming atmosphere and less crowds. I spent the whole afternoon strolling around. Thanks !
I travelled between Tokyo and Ueno stations by Yamanote line, heard of Nippori and Nishi-Nippori so many times, but I didn't try to drop by and walk around this place, really 走宝. (Chinese: missed the treasure) 😄 Congrats on getting your new lens, Rion! We will get to see more nice videos in the coming days. Arigato-gozaimasu! Let's keep walking.
Hi Rion! I just landed in Tokyo and my family and I are really hoping to see you. We have brought you gifts from San Francisco. When and where do you plan to vlog for this weeks live/video? We want to find you and give you some souvenirs.
Hi Rion! Thank you so much for going to local places! I am gonna go there too when I visit because that tokoroten looked soooo yummy I want to eat it too 😊❤ Arigatoo Rion ❤️
Hi there Rion😊 you're the best tour guide ever... Your walking tour and going around the less touristy areas were really a big help to us. Hope to see you next week😊 coz I prepared something for you😊
Hi Rion, I really appreciate you taking your viewers along to lesser known parts of Tokyo. I’ve visited Japan many times and I continue returning as I love the country, culture, and people, but the overtourism aspect can prove to be quite tiring, especially as I’ve been fortunate enough to experience Japan before the huge tourism boom. I always try to explore more local areas and your recent videos have been really helpful and informative. Thank you so much! 本当に感謝します! 🙏🏼
That "JIDOSHA" bldg has a similar structure in Osaka at Nipponbashi Rd., near Kuromon Market, across Super Tamade. I remember it as a former Daihatsu (or maybe still) dealer/repair shop.
I did notice the quality of this video was nicer! It looked much clearer and the lens looked like it focused quick. That bokeh too! Getting new camera gear is always fun ☺
In my trip to Tokyo last year, Nippori was my last stop before heading to airport. It is a nice and quiet town. If you are taking Skyline, it is not bad to spend some time to walk around this town.
Thanks for sharing yet another less tourist spot. I will be visiting Tokyo soon and may plan to either visit Yanaka Ginza or Togoshi Ginza for a change, to feel the local vibes. Hopefully the cherry pie is still available! Sorry, I can't tell the difference on your new lens until your explanation. Good work & looking for more quality videos. Have a good day ahead.
I like the local videos! 👍 The shrines are beautiful and nice to see, the food looked yummy (especially the cherry pie) and at least the “interesting” drink made you laugh, Rion! 😆 The new lens looks great too! 😊
Hello bonjour from France , Merci pour cette vidéo très interessante et cette visite du quartier . Nippori est aussi connu pour ces boutiques de tissus ? Sympathique vidéo (comme d’habitude) Merci
I really miss Nippori neighborhood. I stayed in a hotel in Yanaka Ginza. The stores are open on weekends and only few are open on weekdays. I love the local vibes here 🥰 Thank you for exploring this area. Very natsukashiiiii
Thank you Rion, looking forward to more videos of exploring local towns in Tokyo. It really helps in planning my next trip to explore less touristy spots in Tokyo. Hope you can do the same content in Osaka as it would be my next stop end of this year. Let’s keep walking☺️☺️
Good morning and good afternoon Rion. Alhamdulillah MaSyaa Allah Tabarakallah. It's nice and beautiful place. Insha'Allah I will be back visit travelling to Japan soon. Thanks you for your sharing 👍👍👍👍.
Hi rion! Can you please make video about summer in okinawa? I’d like to know how crowded will it be, since in every anime people go to okinawa every summer.😂
Thank you for another interesting video. Appreciate the local area walks off the beaten path. So relaxing and full of pleasant surprises. The crowded tourist areas get tiring.
Rion, thank you for sharing about the different side of the Tokyo area. It is so interesting and I hope to visit next time. Will you be travelling to other cities apart from Tokyo and Osaka? Perhaps Sendai. Hope to see you in Sendai. 😊
Lovin’ this local walk & learnin’ so much from your local perspective ✨ Thank you for the B-rolls, but wow, the bokeh stole the show 😎 For you as a native, I’m wondering if there’s a reason for the shared name/word of “Ginza” for these areas, Togoshi Ginza, Yanaka Ginza, etc. cuz for me, the first thing I think of is the fancy Ginza 🤓
All the places you mentioned near Ueno sounded so familiar. Now I remember! My first ever trip to Japan was in 1990. I came with some of my friends/classmates from medical school. We just completed our first year. We were students on a budget so we stayed at “Sawanoya Ryokan” in Nezu which is close to where you were walking. That area had a nice local vibe and the accommodation was great for the price. That area is close to Tokyo University hospital where we visited with Japanese medical students. Great memories! 🤙🏼
Thanks for sharing yet another wonderful video! The cherry pie looks good. 🤤 Also, I was wondering why you can't zoom as much. That said, I love the bokeh! 🤩
What day and time did you visit? It seems like there's barely any people in Yanaka Ginza. I'd like to avoid the crowds as much as possible. Thank you so much!
