After selling our Hydra Sport we almost bought a pontoon boat. But instead went with a Skeeter bass boat. We live in North Texas. We also do a lot of kayak river fishin. Anyway..glad we didn’t get a pontoon. Love your videos. Thank you Big Dan!!❤

Pontoons are great to party off of and to slow cruise, but they are not built to fish from. And launching and hauling one is easy, if you have a good trailer. Most of the trailers I have seen here are garbage. A good trailer makes a world of difference. You picked an excellent boat, it should give you years of enjoyment.
The guide posts don't do much good if they are two foot away from the boat. Also, next time you load find the sweet spot for the trailer depth in the water and mark the guide post, now wrap a piece of black tape around the guide post at that mark and the next time you back the trailer into the water just go back until the tape hits the water.

Aww man I miss boating so much. I’ve been going out on my jetski for the last two seasons, but I really miss the boat. Hopefully this year I can afford to get back into boating and enjoy my summers again

Couldn't tell you how many times my wife has told me to be quite at the boat ramp or dock. I am the person that will give you the what the F when you start making wakes around the dock or the ramp. We have owned our boat since 2010 and it still looks like it did the day we brought it. Here in NC if you make a wake that damages someone else you can be held liable for those damages. If NC Wildlife see you they will stop you for doing it.
I agree with you on getting everyone out of the boat when loading, there are so many things that can go wrong while loading. I only have the person driving the boat on it which is my wife. she can load a boat with the best of them.

You asked about the wake in the trailering area. We get this on all Kentucky lakes, big or small.
I really don’t think I have ever seen people get in the water before to put a boat on a trailer.
The way that you have recorded and posted has been great since I first encountered you! If you change b/c this or that from the peanut gallery, it will no longer be Big Dan's touch.

Sublime, instead of Pawn Shop, it's Boat Ramp, every time I watch one of your videos. The pads are EVA foam, not Styrofoam. EVA makes great padding for boarding ladders and trailer rails. Took me a day to do my pontoon and jet ski trailers and my ladder for the toon. And most of that was drying time for the adhesive. Climbing out of the water and onto the toon is SO much more comfy now.
Wake in a no wake zone is an asshole move.

Another great video and you would think people would have more respect for boat launch areas and idea by. Seems that people just need to slow down when loading a boat and will be a whole lot easier and with getting the people off first. Should only be the captain on the boat when putting it on the trailer.

Sunday at a Lake Hartwell ramp, I heard a pontoon boat "captain" refer to the guide poles to his 3 guys in the water as handles. LOL!

The good old bumper boats lol hit it as hard as you can t see how much jalcoat you can remove lol off the boat. A way to remove the jalcoat go to a dock near you and hit the dock Riley hard maybe hit it several times and if someone asked you if they can help you and you stay No I can do it myself I'm a professional lol

Dan, what are the laws in Alabama regarding life vests on children? I see all these little kids on boats with no life vests. Here in Arizona we have a law that 12 and under must be in vests at all times while boat is on the water.
It’s the same. Yet people ignore it. My biggest fear is my kids drowning.

That wake is sorta just a design flaw. Not bunch they could have done but definitely would be extra careful on fender placement and line placement. Something to think about going that deep into yhe water around the ramp is your hard to see and I don't ever trust the "boat Captain's" around me. Sure wouldn't be a place I'd want to be often on a busy day.

Some if ya want to call them boat captains that term should b used loooooosely maybe blind captains bc ya know they know what NO WAKE Zone means!!!!Maybe those police patrol captains or wardens should write a few tickets to c if they slow down some bc here n NC and n SC I’ve seen them write tickets for going to fast n NO WAKE ZONES
Personally, I’d rather hear some wind noise and raw commentary than a voiceover. Unless it’s just awful where you can hardly hear what you’re saying..
