"..We should move on to Mini Decs, it's time to reconsider the viability of the personal computer.." Is this guy for real? Apple was selling Apple IIe's by the 100000s and Commodore flooded the home computer market with Commodore 64's. People loved the personal computer...
Back in the 80s computers were divided under three categories ; Computer (Mainframe) Mini Micro (or personal computer) A Mini-computer is somewhere between a mainframe and a personal computer. You have one central computer and 16-32 terminals connected. This mini computer can run a multi-user and multi-tasks OS (like UNIX). The mini-computer itself is big as a fridge. Back in the 80s a mainframe was much bigger. The first macintosh wasn't powerful enough for the price, that's the complain about the product. In the late 80s Apple has developed a UNIX system for the macintosh, on this system you could convert your mac into a terminal connected to a big mainframe but the license was pretty expensive (Apple based their UNIX OS on AT&T Labs System V and Linux wasn't created yet.
