I recently purchased TATA ALTROZ XZ DIESEL 1.5 LITER 2024 MODEL. Arcade grey. My car looks awesome and feels safe inside. Now driven 280 km only. I felt awesome in the first impression. I was driving Swift VDI for last 10 years. I can feel some gear ratio difference between swift and altroz, because in altroz 3rd gear is similar to 4th gear of swift. Are you feeling same?
I was strongly wanted to purchase XUV3OO W8 diesel. At last moment, i changed my mind because of 1.5 liter of Altroz, same as XUV3OO. But the torque is a bit less and price also less by 3 lacs.
I feel the following..
Accelerator feels sponge at small pressing and the pickup starts after some distance.
Some rubber to metal pressing sound at uneven roads at slow speeds, may be the engine mounting bush sounds a bit. But not that much sound.
I think this Altroz is a king in smooth highways at higher speeds above 80kms per hour.
Regarding Ground clearance 2mm means thickness of a steel measurement scale only.
That's not an issue at all. The tyre section is 17 inch compared to 15 inch swift VDI to manage the humps. Suspension is slightly harder which manages the 165mm ground clearance well.
I want to take this car for a long drive soon. What do you think?

Your points are correct and there is nothing much we can do to emprove it, other than some addons.
Yes, XUV 300 would have had excellent torque but this engine is adequate enough to climb hills fully loaded without even a sweat.
First thing I would recommend you it to get extended warranty and if you drive high miles than it is 110% must.
Heating is not an issue on long or short drives be it tripe digits for some 1k kms in a day. Issues of heating happen due to part failure or dirty radiator. Every 5k kms when you get your car washed get a good pressure spray on the radiator.
To make the performance even better you can use two products.
1: Motul Xcess 5W40 or second option Motul xmax 0W40.
2: Liqui Moly Ceratec / Mannol Ceratec. ( one fill will last 50k kms )
These two products will make your far smoother and rev happy.
To save warranty you will have to spend more and after the service you simply can take your car to another local mechanic and replace the new oil with the motul.
3-3.5k expense but worth it if you enjoy driving.
0w20 or 5w30 recommended by tata is for mileage.
As per my knowledge Tata don't have any oil standards.
Motul xcess passes BMW, Porche, VW, Mercedes, GM and more top company standards.
Top give an idea good motul is, after 18k kms on Motul xcess my brother called me and asked if I had got the car serviced because it was driving very smooth. I used it for 20k kms. Car is now 1.4 lakh plus kms and still shoots like a new car. Using xmax as I plan to do winter Spiti this month.
Cannot comment on the Swift vs Altroz gear ratio.
We had Vento 1.6 diesel.
Purchased this car without test ride and only on reviews. The moment I drove it I was taken back to how powerless it felt in comparison to vento 60:100.
But now it doesn't feel any less.
As you said acceleration is blunt for a second when pulled from standstill. Can give make serious situation on hilly inclines or even a speed breaker on toll plaza.
@@akbarpashtun Yes. That's true and I worry. May be I have to put the gear in second or even first at inclinations and speed breakers at toll plaza.. Hope I will be getting used to this new vehicle and gear ratio soon once i drive more... Each time when i drive this Altroz, I am getting used to it and liking more towards its performance..!! Thanks

Plan tha jeep compass diesel ka halaki dono different segment ki hai. Requirement Diesel+ Manual tha. Par Altroz ne toh dil jeet liya. Upar se tumhari solid practical raw review. Kuchh input mil jaye toh sahi rahega.

You can save money by buying Altroz but Compass is a completely different machine.
Not driven but to the reviews I have seen and all other things taken together it is a brilliant machine.
Now some quality differences are not visible and cannot be noticed even after 15 years of normal ownership.
Take a Tata , Mahindra or another car to winter spiti. Almost all will let you down after -15 to -25°C but majority of the German and US brands make their product compatible to -35°C. So the quality difference of small components is visible in extreme. I am planning to do Winter spiti and have to get much work done to make it -20° C compatible. In a jeep you simply take it.
So if you may put to use the premium they charge for their parts and experience of developing a tremendous product than you should buy a Compass. If you buy Altroz instead of compass you save money to drive your car free for 2 lakh kms.
Always buy extended warranty.

Bhai altroz diesel plan kar raha hu ,dpf aur negative review dekh ke phat rahi hai .kya karna hai batao . Mai bhi up21 wala hu ,give a genuine suggestion .
DPF issue thoda bahut aapko sab BS6 diesel gadiyon me milega. Baaki product inka acha ha major issue koi ni ha. 1.2 lakh kms and still going strong. Gadi aap koi bhi lo mera suggestion ha ki aap extended warranty zaroor le or service center pe hi kaam karae. 5 saal tak saari tension service center walo ki.

Service issue major ni ha. Aap extended warranty zaroor lena and service centre me hi kaam karana. 5 saal tak aap tension free ho. Sara tension inki apko to bs service krani ha or chote mote 2-3 hazar ke repair or parts change jo warranty me ni aate, like bulb battery and tyre.
Maine warranty renew nahi karai thi vrna paise kabke vasool ho jate. Service bahar mat krana. Or chote issues jo pakad me ni aate and assani se ni ho paate usme sab hi bevkoof banate ha

@@sidhusomvanshi5315 gadi sahi ha. Maintenance normal ha. Issues kisi bhi gadi me kch bhi aa sakte ha from Tata to Maruti. Humare zadatar issues chuhe (rat) ke taar Or pipe karne se hue kyunki jaha gadi khadi hoti ha vaha chuhe (rat) ha. Baaki 2 din baad mai apni 115k km chali hui gaadi ladakh lekr ja rha hu bina service ke. Bilkul fit ha abhi bhi. 13k kms last service ke baad chal chuki ha.
Please extended warranty le liega Or kaam agency me hi krana aap. 5 saal ke lie peace of mind. 15k kms p major service ha to aapka saal me maximum 15-20k kharach honge service me.

Mera diesel leak hua tha, rat ne pipe kaat diya tha. Collant kaise leak hua ? Heat se over flow ya pipe leakage
