    A twisted colon is the most PAINFUL condition....I had it once and it took a total of 14 hours of intense monitoring for the twist to work its way out as i stayed in hospital...if it didnt untwist soon they were gonna go in...thank the Good Lord I didn’t succumb to it like Winter did...

    Loved Winter. So very sorry this happened. Wish they found it sooner. Twisted intestines is very serious. I have to say Florida does not have proper care for humans as well as animals. I lived there 16 yrs
    Very behind in the times.
    The Gibb brother died in Fl from twisted intestines.

    I'm confused why they couldn't diagnose the twist before she had to wait out death??? Ultrasound can diagnose it easily and surgery can fix it. From a veterinarian....

      My dog had this happen, got treatment right away and survived. How did that not know the dolphin was sick to begin with? Do they hide illness well like birds sometimes do?

    • @BurroGirl
      @BurroGirl 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@erinjean2695 they knew she was sick and thought it was an intestinal infection, at least that's what was reported on this news channel. This just doesn't make sense. I don't understand how they missed the diagnosis if the report is true. She had to go through hell until she died. She could've been euthanized before going through this. I have to look for info directly from the aquarium to verify details. This just can't be true.

      Are you a marine vet? Dealing with aquatic animals is very different from land animals. There is footage of them doing an ultrasound on her. It requires a special pool to get the techs in place and still give the animal water to move in.

      @Galaxie08 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BurroGirl Wow. You know nothing about Winter. She did not go through hell; she was unable to survive in the wild after losing her tail IN THE WILD.

      @@Galaxie08 I wasn't referring to her entire life. Plz read. I was talking about what she went through at the very end with a twisted gut.

    We do surgery on 1000 pound horses with intestinal twists. Why no surgery for Winter?

    • @primmoore6232
      @primmoore6232 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They had a procedure scheduled for Friday to get details on her condition, but she passed the night before with her team around her.

    • @BurroGirl
      @BurroGirl 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@primmoore6232 makes even less sense to me hearing that. I totally admit I do not have the inside scoop details. So we are stuck w snippets from news media. I just don't understand what details we are getting. I know they are dealing with a creature who lives in water, but I'm sure they can do ultrasound (easier through liquid than air). We do it on huge horses, cows, etc. I have no idea about the risks of doing surgery on a marine mammals so I may have no right being upset. But I'm not criticizing. Just want more questions answered.

    What’s crazy to me is that we’re making press conferences for animals that pass away
    Are we in the twilight zone

    • @Galaxie08
      @Galaxie08 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Don't watch it if you're not interested. You can pick from a ton of news channels. Winter survived a horrific injury, losing her tail and thus wouldn't have survived in the wild. She was an inspiration to many and had wonderful caretakers. Her death was unexpected and those who loved her are grateful for the information. If you call showing empathy and grief over a loss the 'twilight zone', I guess animals are not very important to you. But they are to many people.
