Mala Paklenica

Plan je bio da kroz kanjon Male Paklenice dođemo do pl. skloništa Vlaški grad te da se drugi dan popnemo na vrh Sveto brdo i kroz kanjon Velike Paklenice spustimo do mora ali zbog iznenadne kiše morali smo promijeniti plan.

Last week, I was caught out descending Mala Canyon in a torrential rainstorm and in darkness (small torch thankfully), after misjudging the distance of a circular walk (14 miles vs 10) and not reasiling how severe Mala was (there is no warning at the top). On 4 or 5 occasions, the marked route down a drop-off had zero traction in the wet and would have been lethal, fortunately there was one other, slighly better, alternative. Lesson learned.
