Madame Web trailer is out as a new Spider-Man spin off and the media wasn't enthused. Everything from bad acting, poor plot and characters that bear no resemblance to the comic books it has every sign of disaster. Even the media isn't defending this one and that's impressive from just one trailer! Now there are weird contractual rights issues as this is a Sony Spider-Man movie, but they can't use Spider-Man as a character unless Marvel makes a none MCU movie for Sony. So we have a spiderverse, without the main character, with all of these side characters that REQUIRE Spider-Man in them to make sense! What a deranged business arrangement, but as it looks like this is the least of Madame Web's issues, this movie should be a fun one! But what did you think of what you saw? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)

The way I know of Madam Web is from the 1990's cartoon Spider-Man TAS where she gives guidance to Spider-man but she is also the "assistant" to The Beyonder who is basically a cosmic god and has a bunch of hero's fighting a bunch of villians as a test for Spider-man. Sony could not do this due to needing the rights for a lot of different characters.

As a man, i genuinely feel bad for modern women when it comes to these woke agendas overtaking huge multinational media corporations.
Its just brewing a slow but sure hatred of women led movies before they even release. Wonder woman was a good film, despite the whole ‘all female island’ thing, Arrival is a good film too, the old guard, list goes on

Madame Web in the comics is able to read the "threads of fate" to determine the future. Part of the Amazing Spiderman multiverse.
She's sort of a detective/oracle type character and often finds herself helping Peter Parker from behind the scenes, only showing herself when she's absolutely needed.
And they're totally going to ruin her

Here’s the thing-as a diehard *”crappy movie aficionado,”* I can immediately deflate the whole _“iT wAs MaDe BaD oN pUrPoSe!”_ excuse…
*Intentionally bad* movies _HAVE not, CAN not and WILL not_ ever become *”cult classics”* -simply because _intentionality_ is the literal antithesis of what makes “bad movies,” so amazing!!
It requires the genuine *earnestness* of someone trying their absolute best to make something wonderful -and either due to their own actions/decisions, or through a series of unfortunate circumstances-they unintentionally end up with a giant bedazzled turd instead.
That pure desire to *“make something amazing,”* only for it to end up as a steaming pile -is 100% the most vitally necessary element for turning terrible movies into timeless, endearing, entertaining and beloved classics, with cult followings.
Countless people have tried to “do it on purpose” - but none have actually succeeded.
Even previously adored *bad filmmakers* will immediately fall out of favor with their fans and be abandoned, the moment they become *”self aware”* and try to intentionally make *bad movies...*
Because most people can spot a desperate forgery from a mile away (which is the exact reason why almost everything in Hollywood/entertainment is currently failing….)
But using the old *”they did it on purpose”* theory was a solid attempt to “save face” over just how awful that movie looks.
She gets a few points for effort.
    🤣🤷‍♀️

@@irascibleeukaryote You seemed to have missed the point of my post; name one thing that would grab a mans attention in this dumpster fire of a trailer. The music sucks, they are obviously not trying to be sexy even remotely, they are using a garbage story because they don't have the proper rights and even what story they can tell they are butchering. Again why would a majority male audience care at all about this movie? Also if whatever the main actresses name is hadn't been in Fifty Shades virtually nobody would know her at all and even she knows that; that's why she took the role.

@@thatoneguyonpc1677 I think Spider-man is a product of science not mysticism in his original form.
That said If they want to throw of brand Indiana Jones and spy stuff into the back story around his parents I can't say I especially mind.... as the thing about comics is the audience is now so tiny hardly anyone will have read anything that was said after the comic crash. Comics are now like being a fan of a Niche band compared to being a fan of Elvis or The Beatles at their height (metaphorically speaking).
Batman was famous for decades even before they made the 1960's TV show as so many people used to read comics. Now the numbers are tiny.. even when they have the options to pirate them people don't bother.

Their is all kinds of problems trying to make a feature length film about Madame Web, first of all, she's not originally portrayed as a young woman, but an old one, and two she is often a secondary support character, she is often a guide that gives Spider-Man advice, or a mission, I do not believe their is enough behind her character to make a full length movie, she also not usually a main character. Out of all the characters to make a full length movie about, she makes among the least amount of sense, as a cameo, or an easter egg in a Spider-Man film, she could be really cool, but not as the main draw. It really feels Marvel is pulling names out of a hat, and just making movies about any character they pull.

In the Spiderman show, she was a wise being from another universe. She did not time travel, so much as she had seen so many dimensions of spiderman, their mistakes and failings, it allowed her to predict the future. This allowed her to appear to spiderman, advising him, challenging him and tempting him with hints and clues but forcing him to solve the problems. All because she was building him up for an ultimate challenge where Spider man and a few people he can choose to aid him, against the strongest villains in a battle to prove if good is stronger than evil.
In this she is just a girl who gets visions in an alternate spiderverse.

Okay, let me see if I got all of this.
    1) The bad guy in the movie does not match the origin, powers, costume or moral alignment of the character from the comics (he actually allied with the original Spider Man), and in the comics never, ever actually met Madame Web in person
    2) The Madame Web character in the movie does not match the origin, powers, age or costume of the character from the comics.
    3) The other Strong Female Characters in the movie were just made up on the spot and don't exist in the comics whatsoever.
Yeah, this is definitely a faithful adaptation.

What’s particularly disappointing about this movie is that the concept of a Terminator-style Spider-Man film featuring Ezekiel Sims and Madame Web could have been fantastic. The problem is that Ezekiel should be the Kyle Reese stand-in, not the Terminator himself. We could have gotten at least a decent thriller about Web and Ezekiel teaming up to defeat Morluun or another Inheritor, with Ezekiel wielding his spider powers and mystical knowledge while Web learns how to use her future sight.

Impossible, a modern woke movie could never show the heroine needing help from a man. The man can only be the villain who gets wailed on by the empowered girl bosses in the end; or in the case of The Marvels, even if the villain is supposed to be a man he must be replaced by another woman for maximum estrogen levels.

Even steer people into the right direction. The only reason she's even tied to Spider-Man is she constantly helps Spider-Man and other spider characters. As well had one of the Spider Women be her successor.

This film would be great as an origin story for Madame Web, However, for it to work as a great origin story, they'd have to get rid of the other spiders, and focus on this one. They'd also have to get rid of the plot, and the whole "spider bit her too" angle, while tying it to the spider-verse and advancing it.
    Example:
    Protagonist: Madame Web.
    Antagonist: Inheritors (Naamurah, female).
After the whole Doctor strange fiasco, from the same universe as Spiderman (2012), Madame web is thrown out of her universe, into earth-001. A very dangerous world for any spider, as it is under the control of the inheritors. Her goal is to get the heck out of that universe, into literally any other. Luckily, she's got the Web of destiny to guide her. But, she has no idea how to actually use the damn thing, and therefore has to experiment as she goes along. Eventually, she beats the inheritor and barely makes it into the 616, with inheritors having known about her. Then using the web of destiny, sends out an SoS that essentially tells every spider that there's danger, and most importantly, alerts Tom Holland's Spider-Man to her location.
That's how you write this one.
