Matsui has been horrible. Kim poor hitting this year and multiple errors at his position. Yu is tearing it up now. King, Musgrove, cease, Perez and Yu is a great rotation.

This is going to be really suspenseful for us in San Diego-- the Wild Card series at Petco. We're not accustomed to this kind of thing! I have no idea how the Padres compare to the other seeds in the post-season.
Obviously there are a couple of giant powerhouses out there-- the Dodgers, Yankees, and Phillies.
I believe the Padres will go as their pitching goes.

Machado must still be thinking about that triple play he turned earlier in the week! Good thing they still won the game. The one team I don't want to see in the playoffs is the Phillies. They hammered us when we played them earlier in the year. All the playoff teams are good, just hope we can ride some late momentum.
I’m sorry to say, but we need to either not rely on Suarez this Post season, or he needs to work some stuff out, because this past month, he has been a liability
He won this one, and still has a winning record! Do you expect perfection? He got the save give the man credit!
@@jpSD297 he gets credit for some sure, but over the past 10 appearances, he has blown 4 saves. Would have been 5 if Padres didn’t turn that Triple Play in the Dodger Series. This is Post season baseball, and Suarez is a flamethrower who relys heavily on his fastball. Players like Ohtani, Harper, Betts, and Judge will light him up. Don’t get me wrong, I love Suarez and I think he is normally really reliable and solid, but when you only have 1 trick up your sleeve, people are going to realize it and it’s going to bite us in the ass in the worst way (see 2022 NLCS). This is post season, as much as you want these guys to play and succeed, we need to take emotions out of it and do what we need to do to bring that trophy over to SD. We need to do it for Peter.

It was an ugly win, but a win nevertheless. Right now, it sucks to be a diamond back. Remember the 1984 playoffs against the Cubs? Cubs destroyed the Padres in the first 2 games. Padres came home and won the next 3.

of all the 3rd basemen in history, why Pete Rose? Charley was primarily an outfielder for most of his career, and even then, he wasn't known for his glove much (i think he only has 3 gold gloves in his career, all in the outfield)

Friars been playing the Doyers well but Philly they need to overcome.
Pete Rose won 2 gold gloves...as an outfielder. Machado has also won 2 gold gloves...as a 3rd baseman. He is compared to the likes of Brooks Robinson when it comes to playing 3rd base and he is still considered one of the best at his position.
Thanks to Marte, the Padres had an easy start to the game. Instead of getting out of the first inning with two easy chances, some terrible defense gifted them three runs, lol
