I know that this format is lot less fun than regular cube for a player who loves cube. But I love watching silly decks do silly things. If you record more of these I will watch all of them!
Same. It's fun to see busted broken stuff sometimes, as long as it's in small doses. This format isn't horrible by any means, but it's pretty much exclusively just broken blue stuff with fast mana, now with a spattering of black, because Grief and Bowmasters. Nothing else is even remotely competitive, and it gets old fast when everybody is drafting the same stuff.
@@LucianDevine I hear that white taxes can also be good in this format, but the people who draft this tend to do so for broken things because that's more fun :)
@@monogreen I guess if you open Thalia and then manage to dodge all the good blue cards while getting the good white cards. The downside to just opening Thalia is that you could still get Hullbreacher and the other broken blue cards and either not end up playing her or just splashing her, like LSV was intending to do with Teferi here. Plus white taxes is even more play/draw dependent than broken blue stuff, because of lack of Forces.
@@LucianDevine I heard about the deck during the last lot of supreme drafts when you weren't limited to 1 of each card, I don't know what's changed since then, but I'm guessing if you want to do it now it needs to be U/W. Still all the power and forces and such but with tax effects instead of the combo cards.
@@monogreen Yeah, you'd likely need the Forces to protect you for when you are on the draw when taxes can't help you, and a Hullbreacher wouldn't hurt either, kind of making it half broken blue stuff now. As you said, less fun than normal cube, but is has it's niche in small doses imo.
Not to tell you what to do too much, but when you play the steam events, if you want to play Academy sac the black Lotus for blue play, the mox play the soul ring, play the manifold key. You could a time warped.
have really enjoyed supreme draft and glad you did one too! Its such a fun mindgame between fast combo and interaction. Sad that they removed duplicates though :( I loved the ridiculousness of it also: even more hamilton :O
I didn't realize there could be a more busted format than the regular Vintage Cube... this is just plain nutty. Very cool to watch. Timmy power surging hard here. Ha.
Kappa is very very good in this format. Most decks have almost no way to get rid of it, and you can often put it into play in the first couple of turns. Its been pretty absurd. PO also quite good
-Putting the burden counter on the One Ring is part of the effect, not part of the cost, so I don't understand what untapping it and retapping in response to the first activation is supposed to do. It doesn't net you extra cards.- Well, he said it at the start of the next match, so glad I didn't post that😅
for sure, wow as if his deck didn't already generate enough fast mana and card draw, PO would have jammed a lot more of both in with just the one card, so silly
I think it was for information. It was only game 1, and he only conceded once there was going to be lethal on board and LSV wasn't going to be showing him any more cards.
Curious why there wasn't any consideration for blightsteel in the draft just as a way to kill outright off of tinker. Seems like it's a stronger tool than manifold key without a time vault or something like that.
This format is bonkers, drafted a deck with 7/9 of the P9(only missing time walk and mox ruby), tinker + blightsteel, monastery mentor, bowmasters, narset and hullbreacher to go with timetwister, paradoxical outcome with 4 moxen, Mishras bauble, senseis top, brainstorm + 2 fetches, preordain, samwise to recur bauble, black lotus and fetches, tolarian academy, library of Alexandria, thoughtseize, vamp tutor, the one ring, force of negation. Like I legitimately drafted a vintage constructed deck.
now this is a format to separate the wizards from the apprentices! the decks/games this produces are hilarious, and you can work a whole tournament worth of these games in like a half hour, that is some MAGI (magic as garfield intended) all right! i could watch hours worth of these
Difficult and tedious, namely because you can only do it for 1 player at a time unless you have duplicates of cards, which is less likely in a powered cube, but more likely if you are bringing 8 people together. As for logistics, you have to shuffle the entire cube together and deal out 15 cards so that the player can pick their 2 cards, write them down, then repeat that process 18 times per player.
In general I don't like Library of Alexandria but I know it's strong, though I have to imagine it's pretty bad most of the time in Supreme since the idea is to explosively unload your hand early.
They were supposed to revert the format back to being a truly random pack every time so you could get multiple pieces of the same power. Looks like that didn’t happen but the format is still awesome.
@@Spaccaspecchi And it makes it more likely that you can complete 2-card combos instead of getting duplicate Worldspine Wurm, Etali, and Atarkas, but no Flashes, making you even less incentivized to do anything except just go pure broken blue, making the format even more stale and boring than it already is.
Since you already have 3 mana teferi and if you would have taken displacer kitten with any mana rock you create infinite mana and draw your entire deck and cast brain freeze on your opponent.
Please draft more of this format! I am just at the deckbuilding but this format seems insane.

@@jonathanrfisher It must be nice to be that smart and good at MTG!
Technically correct play from the opponent by playing Hullbreacher just before you drew Subtlety.

Came for the classic quotes and wasn’t disappointed.
“Yeah this is…this is fun is what this is.”
Love how in supreme draft when your opponent plays a sol ring turn one you're relieved that's all they played.

That opening at 26:00 is probably the most absurd thing ever I've seen in draft 🤣

i can see why he didn't see it. probably not used to seeing that in cube and he was most likely too excited about the deck lol
but yeah, it would have been perfect.
I blinked and the video ended.
Hullbreacher is power in this format. I'd take it over any mox if I had to.
I miss how this format was initially; just even crazier
It was supposed to come back. Search the daybreak forums. An employee confirmed two weeks ago that they were intending it to be that way.
Got here from Bosh’s video! Addicting format to watch
Last opponent didn’t want to stick around for the double sol ring, this format is crazy
This format is so busted and lots of fun
I've been enjoying this way more than the default version with duplicates. The drafting is way more interesting.
Love to see more of these
kinda reminds me of the ten chester drafts my friends and i used to do with cube. always had broken decks.
Very honorable of your first opponent to let you do the things, since that is kind of the point of the format lol
I think it was for information. It was only game 1, and he only conceded once there was going to be lethal on board and LSV wasn't going to be showing him any more cards.

Even for Supreme draft that was an amazing set of packs
Loved this one!

Almost the entire power 9. This format is crazy

well there is all your power luck spent in one foul sweep!
In one swell foop.
The true definition of “as Garfield intended”
Can you build a workshop deck in this format?
Only seeing 30 cards makes it a bit harder. It's prolly possible, but it's likely better to just go with broken blue stuff.
They should offer legacy cube supreme draft to see this environment without power.
Nothing like drafting 5 of the power 9 right
You had tinker snd didnt pick blightsteel colossus. Such a fail. Thst eas the perfect pick
How would Supreme drafting work in paper? Seems difficult

I kinda prefer it like this. It's obviously less broken, but it feels like more in the spirit of cube, imo.

How is LSV putting out 25 hours of content per day lately
pretty easy when youre just sitting at the computer doing what youd be doing anyway lol
