@@minininja9322 it means when you radar lock someone and then try to fire a 9j at them, the seeker follows the radar lock when it's on rails instead of just being in the middle.
This has been my experience as well, 11.3 basically has the same matchmaker as 11.0 with way better planes. Which is just odd considering 12.3 is a thing.
11.3 is where you’ll start seeing PD and better sparrows,as well as the best mig23s in the game,and keep in mind,remember the 6 months of mig23MLD,they are still that good,just not top dogs obviously

This thing is my third most flown plane in the game, beaten by the 105G & J35. Before the most recent major update this thing was a beast, and it'd get downtiered more than the J7's. just like the F4E, getting downtiered with 4 good rear-aspect missiles and 2 DF radar missiles would almost always guarantee at least 2 or 3 kills a match, and when those kills are on F5's, you feel real good. But now with the most recent major update I've been seeing a maximum of 3-7ish downtiers in a 4~ hour game session, which is nothing compared to what it used to be. If this is Gaijin cracking down on the Viggens, I hope they either change the Viggens back to getting more downtiers, or making every other 11.0 suffer the same amount of uptiers as the Viggens.
Fun fact since M/75(Viggen cannon) SAPHEI don't overpen(even on a paper thin PO-2 wood tail) i find ground belts more effective than air belts for all occasions both air and ground department, the only real downside is having less explosive filler(42g hexal on HEI vs 18,5g hexal on SAPHEI), but that is mitigate by the fact that sap will pen first blow later instead of blowing on contact. PS:You can also switch modes while in lock since the RWR update droped, so it can help you maintain a lock if someone is notching you
Important to note if you take counter measure pod with you (which you should) you can only equip a single very off center gun pod without tracers, which is in my oppinion very hard to aim. But yea it does good nowadays.

played the viggen yesterday too, 17 matches and 16 of them were 12.0 and because I'm pessimistic the odd one out was still a slight up tier to 11.3. Gaijin even baited me into thinking I got a second 11.3 game but then it turned out the enemy had an f16 and yak41 and we just got railed.
Been having a ton of games where I'm in the middle of dogfighting in the furball and either the whole of the enemy team dies before I can kill anyone or my whole team dies. The furball stomp seems more prevalent than ever. Also, teamkilling at the beginning of matches is getting wild and top tier US has a win rate near 0, my battles history for the US is filled with match losses.
hello joob :) you should try out the g.91 r/3, it's a lot of fun and you have a tool for basically any situation. and the roll rate means it's so nice to fly :)
@@Wandhydrantt honestly who cares about 9B's? the G91 is excellent as a close in dogfighter, and that pair of DEFAs it carries really makes it fun. Plus the missiles imo weigh the airframe down too much, in something like the R/4
I just think we've way underestimated how much time it's gonna take for people to play 12.3 in a big enough quantity to shift the matchmaker. We could it see it happen in time, but it may be irrelevant since new updates will come out by then.
The skyflash atleast works unlike the sparrows, nearly 100% killratio unlike sparrows that miss for no reason and just turn 90degrees right before it should hit
I have noticed this when flying the ja37c, I don't have all the missiles yet so i have been trying to geind them but I experience more uptiers than downtiers but i hear from people online that you experience 50/50 so it is weird
off topic, a quick tip, don't be afraid to use the Rb. 71 at weird/rear aspects. Even at close range. Your pulse doppler is dual direction and very flare resistant and the skyflashes can't be "flared off". If you know what you're doing, the Rb. 71 can be your most reliable missile, even better than the 24J.
Hello guys I'm a fairly experienced player level 85 f2p. I just want a top-tier to finish out USSR or USA . I already am close to the SMT so should I get the F5C, F4S or the Mig 23 ML. Is 11.3 a hell hole for 12.3? Is US matchmaking better than USSR
Depends, if you have zero experience in dealing with a lot of good missiles in a lobby (you'll need a very good situation awareness) I'll advice getting the F5c. 10.3 is a good br to learn how higher tiers are working. And since you are f2p you must know how to use a gun so the fact that the missiles of the F5c are mid wont be an issue.
@@byson8628 Yes 80 to 90% of the time. If you have played those jets you have kind of an idea of what good missiles can do to you, and you know how to aim. For me the F5c is gonna be perfect for you because you can aim and you'll have flares for the first time so in order to use them properlly you are gonna work your situation awareness (being able to look around even during a dogfight to be able to see a missile coming for example) wich is the main goal. And also you are gonna get use to flare once or twice when you can't look around because you are 2seconds from a shooting solution for example.
btw.: how to 11.3? i have no problems with lower rank aircraft. but all those premium 11.3 are somehow almost unplayable for me. not enough flares or not enough flight performance or bad missile armament.

0:45, slight correction, the rb24j/aim9p is now slightly superior in that it has radar slaving where the 9j does not.

On top of the seeker change, the 9Js are now quite flare resistant however it can no longer be radar slaved. (However 9Ps and rb24js can be)

Playing the viggen a lot it does so well in downtiers and really bad in uptiers and the rb24j has ridiculous flare resistance sometimes
I can recommend trying the AJ37 at 10.3, it only has 2 rb24j's and has to carry countermeasures on it's pylons, but it's a lot of fun
