Sumptuous show... sheer elegance. I really liked it! It's exactly what Haute Couture must be, in my opinion. The shoes were great too, although they caused some models to trip (most noticeably at 2:16, 3:31 & 4:24).
Such a beautiful show... The models were sleek and lovely, the music, the tempo, the uncluttered surroundings... Altogether a fine experience to behold. All but for one unfortunate technical detail: the length of the front of the gowns should have been one tiny little centimeter shorter. These were seasoned models who knew how to walk, the shoes - though high heeled, were designed for a level of passable for stability. However, due to the slightest error in the length in the front of the garments, this tripping situation made one question the abilities of the designer and caused the viewer to cringe. I see in the comments that some blame the models for not being able to walk in the clothes. I think we must put the blame where the blame belongs and it is not the models in the case.
I do agree with you: the trips are definitely not the models' fault. That say, the best thing to do is not to blame anybody - the designer made a great work, his show was sumptuous, and I think that when a fashion show features very high heels and sophisticated long gowns, some trips are unavoidable anyway and can be considered as being part of the show. To conclude on an optimistic note, in the present show there has luckily been no falls, unlike during some of Stephane Rolland's previous fashion shows...
Part of the art of clothing is that it moves well. This designer is notorious for building designs that are absolute anxiety inducing nightmares for his models. The clothes were beautiful as art pieces but hideous on the runway. To top it off he, like every other haute couture designer this year, feels free to parade a model wearing little more than beaded curtain sheers and 8 inch platforms and designs that barely clear the model's crotch. But the singer was excellent.
Cherries Jubilee The model is obviously fine with dressing like that. The designer usually pays the model more if she has to wear a dress like that and the model wears nude (skin-coloured) undergarments under said dress.
