RIP Linda Allan 😭(in the white dress) she does the awesome solo at the end of the track " you aaaare a video staaaarrr" . Debbie Doss is the other superb backing singer
I love the two ladies played completely two different characters. One in white was sad and depressed because video taking over radio. And the red was acting like an observer who wasn’t impacted and going about her daily life like filing away her nails 💅 . Amazing script for that time.
I always percieved it as the one in white being the "Radio star" someone with an amazing voice but not the looks. Whereas the pretty girl didn't do any solo's but her talent was purely her looks, which is what put the radio girl out of business.
He is still correct, the common form of VTR is the videocassette recorder (VCR), which uses tape cassettes. Earlier VTRs could also be reel-to-reel. @@PaulGBass

Most people didn’t even know what a VCR was in 1979….imagine that.
full circle kids dont know what a VCR today LMAO
I think I saw my first one when my high school bought one. That would have been 80-81. Was blown away. :)
It's VTR, not VCR: video tape recorder in British Englishnoun. a tape recorder for vision signals and sometimes accompanying sound, using magnetic tape on open spools: used in television broadcasting. Abbreviation: VTR. Collins English Dictionary. Copyright © HarperCollins Publishers.

@@jesusisking8502I didn’t get my first VCR (a 2-head G.E. brand VHS) until 1989; I was 13 y/o at the time.
8/01/1981. When music changed forever. Great day.
The way they sing the word "star", made half of the hit. Love the song.

Epic. So good in the Michelle Williams Seth Rogan movie
The blonde was as hot as it gets
This one sounds like the album version. There used to be the same video with slightly different sound that's now gone from TH-cam.
🎉😊😊😊
This song reminds me of the club spice
Gotta be honest... I'm here for Virginia Hey ("Road Warrior")
She was so glamorous and gorgeous, even more so in Farscape, none of the others could compare. Wellllllllll, maybe Gigi Edgley. But she was a BRAT!
She seems to have a nice rack.
I am here for Virginia as well, it’s a bit of a contrast from her other roles.
