I worked in the food industry for a good few years now, that is a big no-no. If anything, waiters LOVE when other waiters take care of a table for them. Hogging a table all for yourself and getting mad at other waiters for waiting your table is a quick way to make all of your co-workers hate you.

the whole "automatically gives you water" happened in literally EVERY restaurant I've ever been to. Regardless if it was in Britain, NYC, Spain, France, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Germany, etc. (I've been to all of those countries at least once in my life)
