He spoke of his struggles from addiction to loneliness and that feeling of emptiness inside usually accompanied by a palpable existential dread for our world. Simultaneously his music grasped with these topics in often straight forward ways lyrically that I would compare to artists from Nat King Cole to Kurt Cobain. I know the comparison to Kurt is often made but I do find it to be a great comparison because Kurt represented an under spoken feeling through his lyrics and message as well as the energy he channeled it through. Great artists have a way of taking complex topics and putting them simply. Gus has a charisma in his smile and a power in his voice that you cannot manufactured. I feel that Peep was a symbol for a generation in both good and sad ways. He spoke of his struggles from addiction to loneliness and that feeling of emptiness inside usually accompanied by a palpable existential dread for our world. Simultaneously his music grasped with these topics in often straight forward ways lyrically that I would compare to artists from Nat King Cole to Kurt Cobain. I know the comparison to Kurt is often made but I do find it to be a great comparison because Kurt represented an under spoken feeling through his lyrics and message as well as the energy he channeled it through. Great artists have a way of taking complex topics and putting them simply. Gus has a charisma in his smile and a power in his voice that you cannot manufactured. He paved his own way despite his fears and achieved a lot in the short life he lived
