Turmeric is primarily grown in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province of Pakistan. Within KP, the Swat district is one of the major turmeric-producing regions. The climate and soil conditions in this area are conducive to turmeric cultivation. Other regions in Pakistan where turmeric is grown include the Punjab province and Sindh province, but its cultivation is most concentrated in KP, especially Swat. Turmeric is an important spice and medicinal herb, and its cultivation in these regions helps meet both local and international demand for this versatile plant.
