It’s neat, but as a former guard player I would be a lot more interested in a light tank then another large one. I think we have more then our pick of large tanks, a flanking tank would have been great
Isn't that kinda what the Chimera is? I know irl there's a distinction between a light tank and an IFV but in terms of stats and how they'd play in game is there really a niche?
Theres a touch of the Mk 1 Churchill, which mounted a Hull gun offset to the right like the dorn and has similar track "horns" sticking out at the front.
Imo it looks alot like the French BDR G1 B crossed with an ARL 44 Which is hilarious because I play the French in world of tanks sometimes purely because their tanks look straight out of Warhammer lmao Ps: Yes I know the BDR G1 B isn’t a real tank but instead a proposed design that was never produced, but it’s still cool so bite me
I think this is all gonna cause problems when the Wolf King and Rogal Dorn when they finally come back. The Russ won’t be too happy to see that Rogal’s tank is bigger and better than his
Its design kind of reminds you of an American M60 Patton tank which was made famous by its use in the Vietnam War. Might also explain why it’s named after the Imperium’s finest generals, like the Patton tank which was named after the US commander in Europe in WII, General Patton.
The M60 Patton wasn't used in Vietnam. The main US tank in Vietnam was the older M48, along with a good number of M551 Sheridans and a handful of Ontos, but the war pretty much wore out the entire stockpile of Ontos and made it obvious that the Sheridan wasn't the answer they hoped for in supplying a new light/air deployable tank. The Sheridan's failings also caused a revisit of the M60A2 "Starship" which resulted in all the A2s being reverted back to A1s. Some M60 hull variants did go to Vietnam though, just not the MBT. Bridge layers and the combat engineer variant. All the M60 MBTs went to places where they were expected to be more needed if things turned hot. Like West Germany and South Korea. Since the North Vietnamese were not deploying much in the way of armored vehicles, the M48 was more than sufficient for a fire support role.
This looks like the middle child in the family. Older than the little brother the Leman Russ but younger and smaller than the big brother the bane blade.
Sadly nothing but Cadia models. I really would like to see other IG armies. Even if it was a limited run. Just to make things flavored. Especially since they destroyed DKK rules wise.
Please note that the Dorn has no bottom it's got no base the armour under the tank is not existing, so as a model it's missing one of the most important parts but as a.tank it kicks ass
It reminds me of a t-34 tank which helps me with the whole it fitting in with my old guard stuff. It’s less curvy than the sentinels which helps also. Tbh I think it’d be a perfect fit for that Siberian aesthetic based company
Why does this tank look like a mix of the British Big Willy, A somewhat Panzer 4 or 6 turret that has mounted a 152mm cannon and has a mini gun or a motar Char B1 bis tank jam pack into one?
Not gonna lie, this looks waaaay better than Leman Russ. L.R. always was one of the most bizzare peace of weaponry in 40K. Titanic gun (that was suppose to be only 120mm), comically small turret, where was suppose to be a commander + gunner (maybe if they were ratlings... very small ratlings). Also, the design of the Leman Russ tank was obviously inspired by the WW1 Mark I tank, which was wery long to cross trenchlines. And so the Leman Russ is waaay shorter, yet very tall (aka top heavy), so it probably cannot cross even a latrine hole. The Rogal Dorn tank still looks like it belongs to 40K but it's design makes much more sence and I love it.
Not bad, but there are plenty of things that feel off - especially something with proportions. I was hoping for something more along the lines of rugged aesthetics of Macharius or Malcador tanks. This one, to me suffers from the same issues as Goliath or Taurox - it feels very... toy-like somehow.
GW employee: so we have the Mk V right? GW designer: yes, we have it in variants that look like STuGs, no armor and ones that look like we put a Renealt FT turret on it. GW Employee: what if... what if we put a M26 Pershing turret on it. Leave the .50 cal on it as well. GW designer: what about the armament? GW Employee: double Canon variant and single BIG cannon variant. Add mini guns to it and hull mounted Canon as well. Smoke launchers, everything. GW Designer: ok then..
The dorn with dual weapons reminds me of the dual cannon tank from fall out. GIVE ME DRIVABLE TANKS IN FALLOUT BETHESDA! 😂❤ the astra militarum reminds me of how obsessed i am with tanks and world war stuff. I'm proud to play with them when I'm not running greenskins.
I'm sorry does the main gunner now have an MG? it only took them 30k years to discover the act of putting a small gun next to the big gun to get more gun in one deal.
Bah! I STILL prefer the Leman Russ, BOTH the Space Wolf Space Marine Primarch as well as the ORIGINAL Imperial Guard Main Battle Tank! By the way, if this Rogal Dorn tank is here, where exactly does it fit in between the Leman Russ & the heavier Baneblade series of super heavy tanks?
Russ would be pissed. One upped by Dorn. When is the Guilliman or Johnson coming to one up Dorn? -Don’t mention Sanguinius, else we’ll see Horus everywhere-
It’s a cool design that looks practical until - the guy stood on the back with a machine gun. Like really? Everyone else in that vehicle can be sealed inside and protected from attacks, but this guy is just stood out in the open in order to use the weakest gun on that thing
I dont like the aesthetics of the Rogal Dorn. Dont know why GW moved away from the tried and tested boxy design with flat surfaces and sharp angles of all the other guard vehicles.
Don’t know what to collect. I’m a bit of a lore expert myself (compared to newbs I guess) and have watched every Leutin and arch video… like every single one several times over Fixed between the Eldari, and space marine chapter of my own creation… but tanks are so fucking cool 🫠🫠 I kinda just want to collect Imperial guard tanks
I don’t have any warhammer but god I would love to start with this (I would be to scared to paint it tho because I wouldn’t get it as good as I’d want it)
I wish so bar I could get into this. Sadly where I live there is no real community and it's way to expensive for me. (I would want grey knights or militarum)
I dont like it. Imo its a bit to "round" around the hull if you know what i mean. And i think the guard dont need larger tanks. What guard need is in my opinion a Tank between a Leman Russ and a chimera.
Wow, after 3 decades of waiting there's a second tank on tabletop that has suspension after Baneblade. So much wow, so much slow clap -_- Can GW already partner up with some modeling company for WWII vehicles and let them fix the problem?
It’s neat, but as a former guard player I would be a lot more interested in a light tank then another large one. I think we have more then our pick of large tanks, a flanking tank would have been great
I tend to agree, would like to see the salamander scout tank come back with a rework.
Something between the Scylla and the Russ would have been cooler than something between the Russ and Macharius, for sure.
The Forge world Carnodon my guy
...Hellhounds.
There you go.
Isn't that kinda what the Chimera is? I know irl there's a distinction between a light tank and an IFV but in terms of stats and how they'd play in game is there really a niche?
To quote Rogal Dorn himself: "YEEEEEEEES"!
Awwww TTS😭
This looks like a cross between an American Patton and an American M6 Heavy Tank.
I was trying to figure that out and it does look awfully close to an M6
feels more like an ARL44 for me though the turret did feel a bit more like the M6
Theres a touch of the Mk 1 Churchill, which mounted a Hull gun offset to the right like the dorn and has similar track "horns" sticking out at the front.
Imo it looks alot like the French BDR G1 B crossed with an ARL 44

Ps: Yes I know the BDR G1 B isn’t a real tank but instead a proposed design that was never produced, but it’s still cool so bite me
I'd say it's a mix between a Sherman tank and an Abrams I will gladly see that mix
It fits with the new guard stuff but not with the older blocky guard
That’s the issue
Yeah you can definitely see the change in style. I mean this ones even got those fangled new red cameras on it how crazy is that
Driver, commander, 5 gunners and 2 loaders. Gonna get cramped inside that thing haha
if the side sponsons aren't crewed by slaved servitors with no arms or legs
Looks like a mix of the British mk1 heavy and an American M48 Patton. Love the slight modernization in tank design for the Guard
I think this is all gonna cause problems when the Wolf King and Rogal Dorn when they finally come back. The Russ won’t be too happy to see that Rogal’s tank is bigger and better than his
Cadians are the guard's Ultramarines
Just in the sense of being the poster boy. Cadians lose almost as much as they win battles.
@@panzer1925Cadians held the line even after the planet was cracked in half.
@decarus834 guess what: throws dust
I have a feeling that there's going to be a line of tanks named after all loyalist primarchs
I hope the new tank was gullimans idea in lore. that way he has more of an impact
It's like a mix between a leman russ and a baneblade
When two tanks love each other very much...a lot of "banging" happens.
I really like it. A solid line brick for prosecuting even more foes. You could probably use a malcador for it.
GWs rly want everyone to forget that the macharius heavy tank series existed, huh
Its design kind of reminds you of an American M60 Patton tank which was made famous by its use in the Vietnam War. Might also explain why it’s named after the Imperium’s finest generals, like the Patton tank which was named after the US commander in Europe in WII, General Patton.

Looks perfect to me
Macharius: Am I a joke to you?
Looks like a dream to drive and a nightmare to face.
I love the Starship Trooper Rico Head
This looks like the middle child in the family. Older than the little brother the Leman Russ but younger and smaller than the big brother the bane blade.
It looks like a Churchill mk1 Tank with World War 1 Mk4 tank gun ports? Creative and Impressive.
looks like a proper ta- *sees two barrels*, you almost did it, *sees 1 barell version*, uff, they made a sensible tank
Sadly nothing but Cadia models. I really would like to see other IG armies. Even if it was a limited run. Just to make things flavored. Especially since they destroyed DKK rules wise.
I consider anything 'Cadian' as generic Guard and will fully replace the crew to match my Regiments
Did you collect DKK?
Please note that the Dorn has no bottom it's got no base the armour under the tank is not existing, so as a model it's missing one of the most important parts but as a.tank it kicks ass
This actually looks like a somewhat more logical tank design than the Guard's other tanks.
You're telling me the Baneblade is impractical???
yeah the gunner of the heavy stubber standing in the open .... very logical!
Astra Militarum and Sabaton combine in such a way
It reminds me of a t-34 tank which helps me with the whole it fitting in with my old guard stuff. It’s less curvy than the sentinels which helps also. Tbh I think it’d be a perfect fit for that Siberian aesthetic based company
The Jaghatai battle tank will be two White Scars running in formation...
Why does this tank look like a mix of the British Big Willy, A somewhat Panzer 4 or 6 turret that has mounted a 152mm cannon and has a mini gun or a motar Char B1 bis tank jam pack into one?
RIP to those dudes ears when that gunner opens up with the heavy stubber while they're sticking their heads out
Ya fail to mention that the tank is filled with spaghetti that you can access via a hole in the bottom of the tank
I’Z GONNA LOOT IT. WAAAGH!!!!!!
If OSHA still existed, they’d be pissed off about that pintle mounted mg on the back. It is not structurally safe.
something about the shape and texture of this reminds me way too much of Metal Slug
I just barely got into this. Picked this group and just barely bought this tank. Love it. I'm just starting to assemble it for paint.
Not gonna lie, this looks waaaay better than Leman Russ. L.R. always was one of the most bizzare peace of weaponry in 40K. The Rogal Dorn tank still looks like it belongs to 40K but it's design makes much more sence and I love it.
Dual battle cannons make it look like the M42 Duster
OH LOOK 40K TIGER 1 RELIC
Not bad, but there are plenty of things that feel off - especially something with proportions.
I was hoping for something more along the lines of rugged aesthetics of Macharius or Malcador tanks.
This one, to me suffers from the same issues as Goliath or Taurox - it feels very... toy-like somehow.
Looks awesome, I want it for my Kriegers
You should own a 40k tank dealer ship!
And then we get it finally and it doesn't have a bottom
I like the American solution to the problem More Guns Equals more better.
DIZ GUD.
BUT SOMFIN’S MISSIN’
HMMM....
IT...
IT NEEDZ MO’ DAKKA!!!
Sherman on steroids.
See, THIS I like the look of. I hope it's effective
GW employee: so we have the Mk V right?
GW designer: yes, we have it in variants that look like STuGs, no armor and ones that look like we put a Renealt FT turret on it.

Personally I think we need some flanking tankettes
Tell me that I'm not the only one who want 40k Lego
Imagine making an Astra Millitarum/Imperial Guard joke then saying the full Warhammer Fourty-thousand ;P
Cheers for the breakdown
Mmmmn I love the coax even if it's an auto Canon. I love the slightly less ww1 aesthetic too
its far too flashy and round for the guard aesthetics
it's pretty on par for guard kits to have a lot of flash on them
As a current guard player it's a nice new addition but I still think the leman Russ and it's more diverse mane gun will be better
The wall of guns
I think it looks really good
I'm sorry
does the main gunner now have an MG?
it only took them 30k years to discover the act of putting a small gun next to the big gun to get more gun in one deal.
Just want to see some armor over the top treads
Russ would be pissed. One upped by Dorn.
When is the Guilliman or Johnson coming to one up Dorn?
-Don’t mention Sanguinius, else we’ll see Horus everywhere-
Considering the imperial fists love of bolters am suprised to see very few on the tank that bares there primarch's name
Honestly I think bringing back the Macharius Heavy tank would be better.
Looks like a mark 4 with a miss-shapen Patton turret on top
what we should have gotten is a light tank, already have plenty of heavys
Looks like a M4 Sherman tank.
I wonder what the quality of one would be like from the factories of Armageddon
It’s a cool design that looks practical until - the guy stood on the back with a machine gun. Like really? Everyone else in that vehicle can be sealed inside and protected from attacks, but this guy is just stood out in the open in order to use the weakest gun on that thing
*heavy breathing intensifies*
I dont like the aesthetics of the Rogal Dorn. Dont know why GW moved away from the tried and tested boxy design with flat surfaces and sharp angles of all the other guard vehicles.
reminds me of the sherman tank
So a miniature Baneblade.
i fee like the two stubbers and the minigun on the front of the tank just look daft
Don’t know what to collect. I’m a bit of a lore expert myself (compared to newbs I guess) and have watched every Leutin and arch video… like every single one several times over
Fixed between the Eldari, and space marine chapter of my own creation… but tanks are so fucking cool 🫠🫠 I kinda just want to collect Imperial guard tanks
I still think they should have called it something cooler. Also it’s just a slightly larger Russ with more guns.
It’s definitely closer to a Baneblade. The thing dwarfes infantry and the new Sentinel
I LOVE IT!
Looks like a late ww2 tank design or Cold War Tank
my wallet is hating me allready 😅
Same here unfortunately
luckily, I won’t be buying the misplaced fantasy commmander .
It's a baby baneblade
And in typical GW fashion, it will cost you your firstborn.
Going to get one
Thats a Patton tank!
Can’t wait to 3D print it
Twin Cannon! They must have good auto reloading system!
Guardsmen loader doing all the job:💀
I don’t have any warhammer but god I would love to start with this (I would be to scared to paint it tho because I wouldn’t get it as good as I’d want it)
Yea I got one of these tanks. Don't have a home anymore since it was that or the mortgage but I got the new tank!
How much imperial credits? Where can I get a decent tank loan from?
imagine they accidentally found the blueprints of a nuclear bomb
I wish so bar I could get into this. Sadly where I live there is no real community and it's way to expensive for me. (I would want grey knights or militarum)
come play online; tts40k.com
So if we the astra militarum are getting new tanks named by praimarchs then wats next the robut gullmin?
WOOOOO!
so all these new tanks and tech does this mean a hord of lost tech has been found
Its almost cool it could almost pass as a real tank
That barrel ain't thick enough! >:(
is a shame is so good vs a normal tank if you look at points unless you play demolishing tank
i like it but i don't like the look of the gun mantle. it just seems too big
So he's the one that rediscovered that STC?
I dont like it. Imo its a bit to "round" around the hull if you know what i mean. And i think the guard dont need larger tanks. What guard need is in my opinion a Tank between a Leman Russ and a chimera.
Looks like a m6 heavy
A "new" weapon? Heresy!
I love it and I will be buying 3 (not gamer I just collect and paint and love seeing my IG on parade).
Wow, after 3 decades of waiting there's a second tank on tabletop that has suspension after Baneblade. So much wow, so much slow clap -_-
