Ron doesn’t understand that the Phoenix Suns without Steve Nash has a losing record during their time. it shows the value of how much more awesome Steve Nash was as a Phoenix Suns player. The 76ers was number 1 seed i get that outside of Allen there wasn’t that much offensive talent but that era especially in the east it was very defensive. Those teams was built off defense. That 76er team best attribute was their defense in fact a lot of those playoff games was won off defense. Again when is it a upset when a 1 seed that has the MVP, 6th man of the year, DPOY, and COTY make it to the finals??
And this really isn’t a shot at AI because AI played in a very defensive era. It was a lot of ugly iso ball that’s why he, Kobe, Paul pierce, Tracy was great but shot so low because they was playing iso ball. You didn’t have the spread offense of today. Iverson scored as much only because he shot the ball as much as he did. That's not a good thing.
    He took 21.8 shots per game 3.7 3's per game and 8.9 FT's a game. Efficiency splits are 42.5%/ 31.3%/ 78%
    Steve Nash took only 10.4 shots a game. With 3.2 3's a game and only 2.8 FT's a game. His splits are 49%/ 42.8%/ 90%
Nash shot the 3 better than Iverson shot overall and if we math it out so Nash only takes 50% more shots and the same amount of FT attempts he averages 26/game just like A.I

I think to Jalen’s point: hoopers normally lean towards AI because of how hard it is to duplicate. It’s a lot harder to consistently score on people that are taller than you. Especially when you have the ball in your hands and are solely responsible for breaking down the defense and getting a shot. It’s easier to find people who are already in the correct spots because of the system and plays. That D’Antoni system deserves a ton of credit for what Nash did. Even Jeremy Lin had multiple double digit assist games during his Linsanity run with D’Antoni and that was his first ever time getting extended minutes. The system is a HUGE reason why.

Just because he took more doesn’t give him a pass. Wade was MILES more efficient than AI. What Wade gives you with slashing clears everything AI has 🤣🤣

The gap is on defense. End of story. Iverson led the league in steals 3 times, and averaged I believe 2 steals for his career. He was also a much better on-ball defender, and more clutch. Offensively, if you want to give Nash playmaking, shooting, and efficiency, that's fine. Iverson has everything else; meaning post game, finishing, shot creation, midrange, IQ, ball-handling, handles(they are different for those who never played), drawing fouls, and leadership both offensively and defensively.

The trouble w/A.i was he never allowed his abilities & talent to b harnessed into a superstar player. Nash was more revered than he should've been, he was a system player in a flawed system......no more no less!!

Let’s put Nash on the 76ers and AI on the suns to see what happens😂. Nash probably won’t even make the playoffs in the EAST. Who will Nash be passing the ball to on the 76ers? Nobody shot 30 percent from 3pt on the roster. Nash wouldn’t know what to do if he had to score 30 every night remember that.
