I love ponds , but they are a lot of work . We had a small one when l was younger . It wasn’t very deep . Sadly there was no where for fish to hide . My neighbor gave me her big Koi and it didn’t live 24 hours . I went out the next day and a raccoon had gotten to it. On the bright side it was fun to go out and hear frogs splashing into the water . Now l would just be happy with a little water fountain. Enjoy this beautiful weather . Love and blessings to you . 🥰

I am blown away at how you remember the name of all the plants, amazing! Do you have to worry about any of them in the winter? We had a pond with koi in it when we lived in Northern Ontario, Canada. Every fall we brought them indoors for the winter. We had to have large aquariums for them as they got to be a foot long. When we had to move away, we tried to sell them, but nobody wanted them. We finally found someone to give them to, but I don’t think they looked after them either. We were told they didn’t live through the next winter. 🤷🏼♀️. Oh, well … You must have some wonderful yard sales and antique stores 😊
Thank you so much. We take a bunch of plants that aren’t winter hardy in the unheated garage late October and bring them back out in the Spring after last chance of frost. Some will go in complete dormancy. The others I just water a little about every 3 weeks. In the spring I trim a lot of the plants and fertilize them all before I bring them back out. We do manage to hit a lot of good yard sales but there are a lot of bad ones too. We don’t go to antique stores very much anymore. We love going to the yard sales❤️. Have a great day. I love all of your videos. My mom and I have been a subscriber for many years. After seeing your kitchen tours dozens of times, we are still trying to figure out if you have a pantry or where you store food, so I told my mom I would just ask. lol Im in northeast, TN so I know what heat and humidity you are dealing with. I have been in the process of moving for the last three weeks and there have been days I didnt think I was going to survive. lol

John put shelves in the closet right in front of the kitchen when we first bought the house because there wasn’t a ton of cabinets. I do use some of the cabinets for food and things like flour , coffee and spices etc. 😊. Bless your heart having to move in this heat. I know it’s been hard. Today is supposed to be the hottest day this week. Upper 90’s maybe even 100 with super high humidity. I hate to say it but the cooler temperatures of Fall will sure be welcome this year. HI Jean!! I thoroughly enjoyed this tour of the garden and potting shed. My oh my!! I saw so many plants that I would love to try and grow. I really like the Creeping Jenny. Many of your plants I don't see here that much in California - maybe because we are on the west coast and have a dry climate. Your Wildflowers sure did much better than mine. I dont have any flowers showing yet - just greenery. I have almost given up on my vegetable garden/p[ots this year. My pumpkins are hangin in there and my beans. I think next year I will have a green house and try using raised garden beds. It's so much work to grow a garden well. How do you take care of all your beautiful plants? ~~ Big Hugs!!

I’ve had a hydrangea w/ the large leaves had it for 5 or 6 yrs it’s always beautiful & green but sadly has only had 1 bloom in the back 🤦♀️ it’s huge though the bloom was a greenish purple it was beautiful I’ve done everything put crushed tomatoes & coffe grounds & got a root booster from ever green spike w/ a gentleman there he said that would make it bloom sadly it hasn’t it’s beautiful green my neighbor told me to put egg shells & ground tea leaves I even talk to it lol & prayed 😊 so I thought I’d ask you cause your so knowledgeable w/ plants 😊 thank you for sharing y’all’s home ❤ have a Blessed day I’m in Est Tn close to Johnson city I live in a small town in Elizabethton we love it here we both grew up here ❤

I think the large leaf Hydrangeas are macrophylla which means they only bloom on old wood if they are an older variety. Some of the newer varieties will bloom on old and new wood. My big hydrangea that I said hadn’t bloomed in years is an old variety. Usually it will set buds and then we get a frost or freeze late in the Spring and that kills the buds which means no blooms. Next year In the Spring I’m going to cover it if we have late frost and see if it helps. Also on the ones that bloom only on old wood do not cut them back in the spring or you can off any buds that may be just forming. Now when I buy a hydrangea I always make sure they bloom on old and new wood. We’ve only been to Tennessee one time and didn’t have time to stop because we were on our way to Texas to see my sister many, many years ago. I definitely will watch your video after while and subscribe. 😊My Grandmother had 3 giant blue hydrangeas in front of her house and she didn’t do anything to them either and they were gorgeous every year. The ones I have that never blooms are beautiful and healthy, just no blooms😒. Hopefully next year. Have a wonderful day. After while I’m going to upload another video of the back deck and gardens. Just beautiful! Love so many of the touches!! You certainly have a green thumb! I live in maine so winters make things difficult but I’m doing what I can. Oh look at the summer room! So it’s shutters for walls. 😮 Wish you were a neighbor! I’d help in the garden and pick your brain😂 So your wild flower seeds in pots, come back every year? You just leave them thru the winter? Outstanding tour!! ❤
