The concept of eco-friendly ganesha is good but it for common man spending 20k on murthi is over the budget. ECO-FRIENDLY is just an idea afforded by rich or by expense planners. The average budget of of whole 10 days is 10k min to 13k max.Share my view because such idea need to be spread among other idol artist.

In South India ..it's very old tradition make idol from papermash.just google about lepakshi handicraft ..in their website u will get separate section for papermash handicraft..

Earlier Ganesh idols used to be made of clay. And they would have a coin in the idol. And these idols were to be dissolved in Ponds/Lakes.
Now the reason for dissolution is this- in order to retrieve the coins, people would walk in the pond. This would set the clay in pond and this is supposed to be effective rainwater harvesting method. This process ensures that rainwater doesn't drain away from pond.
This is the reason widely prevalent in Tamil Nadu.

गणपती बाप्पा मोरया ,
पेपर गणपती ही संकल्पना खुपच चांगली आहे. आता हे गणपती इको फ्रेंडली आहेत कि नाही हा दुसरा विवाद . माझ्या मते इको फ्रेंडली गोष्ट जेव्हा येते , जेव्हा विसर्जनाची वेळ येते तेव्हा मी जे अनुभले आहे ते मी सांगू इच्छितो , विसर्ज कुठे आणि कसे करायचे हे प्रति व्यतीवर अवलंबून आहे. जर पर्यावरणाचं विचार करावयाचा असेल तर नक्कीच समुद्रात करू नका. आम्ही आमच्या गणपतीचे विसर्जन टब मध्ये केले आणि विसर्जन अगदी उत्तम प्रकारे झाले. आणि जे दागिने होते ते विसर्जना नंतर माझ्या मुलीने आर्ट आणि क्राफ्ट साठी त्यांचा वापर केला .
माझ्या मते पेपर गणपती ही संकल्पना खुपच चांगली आहे.

My kind request pls tell sir if he really want to make it 100 percent eco-friendly then don't use stones beads and artificial colour for decoration .it is not 100 percent eco-friendly ,even small beads and stones go in fish stomach it will cause major trouble
