  • Join us on December 24th, our incredible 4th day of the winter road trip, starting early from Kingman, Arizona, and heading to the awe-inspiring Grand Canyon West Rim. We arrived early for our 9 AM time slot and couldn't wait to explore the breathtaking views and thrilling experiences awaiting us.
Experience the Grand Canyon like never before with immersive activities that go beyond breathtaking views. Here’s what we covered:
    🌄 *Highlights:*
*Skywalk at Eagle Point:* One of the world's most thrilling cantilever glass bridges. Step out onto the 10-foot wide, horseshoe-shaped glass bridge extending 70 feet out over the rim of the Grand Canyon. Feel like you're walking on air as you take in stunning views 4,000 feet down to the Canyon floor. Learn about its fascinating construction and the rich cultural significance of the Hualapai Tribe.
*Eagle Point & Guano Point:* Take the shuttle bus from the parking area and discover the unique rock formations and incredible vistas from these iconic points. Learn about the Hualapai myth of the giant eagle that saved their people.
*Hualapai Point:* After visiting Eagle and Guano Points, we drove to Hualapai Point for more awe-inspiring views.
*Historical Significance:* Learn about the fascinating history and myths of the Grand Canyon, including the story of the giant eagle that saved the Hualapai people. The Grand Canyon was once submerged underwater, and the legend goes that an ice comet created it.
    📝 *Know Before You Go:*
Skywalk is located on the Hualapai Reservation and is not affiliated with Grand Canyon National Park.
Professional photographers capture your Skywalk experience; photos are available for purchase.
Peak visitation is between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM Mountain Standard Time, so arrive early to beat the crowds. The last tickets are sold at 5:30 PM mid-March through October and 4:30 PM November through early March.
Offsite parking with complimentary hop-on, hop-off shuttle service to Skywalk is available.
Bring the whole family (children of walking age are welcome) and see the Grand Canyon from a whole new perspective. Store your personal belongings in a free locker, and wear booties to protect the glass as you walk the sky.
This $30 million modern engineering marvel took four years to build, opening to the public on March 28, 2007. At that time, Skywalk was the world’s biggest glass cantilever bridge at 70 feet. The bridge can withstand an 8.0 magnitude earthquake, wind speeds up to 100 miles per hour, and can support the weight of seventy-one 747 airplanes.
