Dammit! Looks like a hotel room. I'm in Fort Bliss, staying in the nicest barracks I've ever been in, and this still looks twice and nice s anything we have in the Army. (I'm crying a little inside.)
Wow,nice barracks. When peopele said Air Force has nicer stuff, and treats their airman with respect,i didn't know it would be that much of respect and more nicer shit
Apparantly not all af dorms are created equal. Ours was moldy carpets, moldy bathrooms. We had bunk beds, a smelly fridge that worked half the time, one sink one toilet one shower that was shared by 4 dudes. Our AC was a mold infested swamp cooler that enhanced the humidity making it worse. Broken glass on the walkways with puke and musty beer stains everywhere. Boots would stick to the walkways. Lol glad to see things have improved
My "stay" at Andersen AFB, Guam in 1966 during Operation Arc-Light was in concrete barracks. The rooms were one quarter the size of the one in the video. Absolutely no amenities other than a small wooden locker. Bunks were stacked three high, nine bunks per room. If you were the unfortunate to get one of the upper bunks your nose would practically be scratching the ceiling. We shared one shower with the adjacent room with symmetrical accommodations. As for Guam itself, it was nothing but jungle and ocean. How times have changed.
I don't remember dorms looking like this in 1983. It would be interesting to let people see what a barracks looked like back then,so they could make a comparison
WTF is this?! This is the biggest, nicest dorm room I've ever seen. This is a fucking hotel room dude. Every dorm room I've ever had was half this size.
Sure if you're com you get that kind of dorm here at ramstein they moved me from the come one had everything minus a stove all in one room with a walk in closet almost the size of my current room now to this smaller dorm for maintainers which isn't bad but still
Never lived in the dorm in minot, lived off base, north Hill, but do remember the dorms were not like this, friends lived in the SPS DORM, two people per room. Obviously Times have changed lol
Isaac Hernandez With all due respect, you've missed the point of this video and you're coming off like a jaded nit. I also see it's time to block you and your snotty commentary.
Ardenwolfe I can understand wanting nice nice dorms but it depends on your priorities. You might not be able to understand it but some people don't have nice things as their highest priority. But again it's certainly understandable. But then I wouldn't need to join any branch if my priority were nice living space.
Are you allowed to have your desktop (the tower) shipped to Tech school. Because... I'm cheap lol. I don't feel like buying a laptop when I already have a Pc at home. Would it cause a huge security issue?
Hey! Yeah men and women share dorms, we live mixed together on the same floors and all haha the only difference is if you have a dorm where you share a bathroom or a kitchen then your suite mate will be of the same gender but besides that there is no segregation ha.
you are so awesome thank you!!! are you in a base in california? i am from South California and wondering if i might have a possibility of being stationed in San Diego or North Cal
***** depends on your job in the AF. Some jobs only have a few bases where you can be stationed while others have a large list of potential bases. But to warn you, just because your job may have a list of bases all over, doesn't mean you're going to get the base of your choice off your "dream sheet" (list of bases your would like to be stationed at). For example, I filled my preference list with bases all over seas, and I got stationed smack middle of the U.S haha. It's where the Air Force needs you before your needs/wants. From one SoCal native to another, wish you the best if you decide to join!
Amerikanski education system is certainly interesting. You can go to AFA and still posting other university banner. In China, If I go to PLAAFAU and posting Fudan University banner. I will get interrogated by special branch organ of state security. (For being ungrateful student)
y'all don't have barracks, y'all have motel rooms. last time I saw a place that nice, I was in a hotel. Just before we were shipped to basic. But then again, I'm Army.
Being a fresh airmen just out of basic and more then likely doing my MOS training in texas what are my chances at a room that looks like the one above, and if not what kind of room do you think that I would be given?
How do you guys shop for groceries or supplies? I know most people who are stationed somewhere don't buy a vehicle for temporary use. Is the commissary a walking distancr from ur dorm?
"One man" rooms WOW... 1970-80's 2 people per room, minimum. Not always someone of your choosing or liking. Best idea was to get on opposite shift of your room dog, and hope he has a cute girlfriend.. for when he's at work... lol.
so im thinking about joining the air force, i want to do something with my life, i want to be mature and confident... Is that a good enough reason to go? Im just really scared though. help! Also, is tech school like hs, do u have to find ur classes etc.
every branch has its pros and cons....im leaving for Marine Corps basic in june...I believe that the Marines instills the most discipline and gives you the most life skills...from what I saw and heard, the Air Force only has good pay and retirement benefits....if you're looking for a good thing to do with your life, look into the Marines or the Navy...and in my opinion, don't even bother with the Army...I hope you can find what's right for you
I'm basically going for the same reasons, don't worry about your reasoning for going though. I'm going cause I'm bored and want to do something exciting, lol. I've just been going to school for 2 years now and probably going to start working also, if I have a long wait for DEP. :3
jordan jacobson The pay is the same for every branch. And what's wrong with army? That was initially going to be my first choice but the whole aviation theme drew me towards Air Force.
During bootcamp your MTI tell you what to do with your hair and during bootcamp you aren't allowed to wear makeup but after you graduate bootcamp you can wear all the makeup you want
+southof76 well if you don't eat meat you wouldn't enjoy eating from the cafeteria. They use the same stove the meat was on and that goes into your system.
USMC barracks are full of angry drunk people and rats, you guys are living the luxury. Does your barracks also have a swimming pool and a tennis court? Oh and maybe a mega mall!? Wow!
I have another question, so when you had a roommate, like were both your beds in the same room or were there like separate rooms in one dorm? I leave for boot camp on jan 31 :D
Since the dorms are coed, and you clearly have a dude in your dorm, does that mean they're cool with yall getting down if you know what I mean? Seems pretty lax in the AF!
southof76 I'm pretty sure every branch has coed dorms/barracks. If you join the military, you're an adult and they will treat you as one. They don't care what you do as long as it doesn't interfere with your work and it's a professional relationship.
+Damn Son My brother is a Marine and I've seen 29 palms so many times while visiting, looks like a hell hole haha. But I guess a good training environment.
I was stationed there in 1976, met my wife there.
This is at Kadena Ab in Okinawa Japan for everyone asking
Wow it's like your own little apartment, cool (:
Awesome! Def brought back some memories!
KindaCoolKaia 82k views?!
KindaCoolKaia yeah dude. Everyone else in the Air Force dorms is showing their friends how much bullshit it is that you get to live in a hotel.
We all get it airforce your barracks are like a 5 star hotel
We call it barracks in the Corps!
I'm over here in my infantry barracks re thinking the decisions I've made looking at my carpet-covered walls.
Apparantly not all af dorms are created equal. Ours was moldy carpets, moldy bathrooms. This is much better than the dorm in 1985 when I've been there but thank you us. air force anyway.
I don't remember dorms looking like this in 1983. It would be interesting to let people see what a barracks looked like back then,so they could make a comparison
I like this video im joining the air national guard soon im excited
Thanks! & thats awesome!
Im thinking about joining the air force soon and all your videos just inspired me, i hope i get to meet you whenever i get in. Im like a fan lol.
WTF is this?! This is the biggest, nicest dorm room I've ever seen. This is a fucking hotel room dude. Every dorm room I've ever had was half this size.
Crazy nice dorm room, looks brand new.
It was it was newly remodeled. I miss it lol
KindaCoolKaia i cry :'( army dorms were terrible!! lol
joey vizinat
lol not all the dorms are this nice but most are ok
KindaCoolKaia ahhhh ok lol because i was thinking of reenlisting into the air force :)
9 years ago good lord these were some good ass times haha!!
Wow! I didn't know this would be that nice
This dorm is so much nicer than security forces dorms in incirlik turkey
Welcome back!
Sure if you're com you get that kind of dorm here at ramstein they moved me from the come one had everything minus a stove all in one room with a walk in closet almost the size of my current room now to this smaller dorm for maintainers which isn't bad but still

All that space to yourself! What base are you on?
Thank you for your service.
@Jacob Stork Your Welcome
Awesome video guys! :D
Hey Kaia!!! Your amazing keep posting! Plus can't wait till out next vid lets do that pt one soon!!
MFW an airforce barracks looks like a hotel....Currently in the army living in barracks from goddam 1960.
Check out, the U.S Marine Corps barracks, small ass room plus you have a freaking roommate. MTV Cribs, Marine Corps Edition
Very nice setup. And this is why you want to go into the Air Force enlisted. Not Army or Marines.
Ardenwolfe don't say that, two very different branches.
Isaac Hernandez But very true, I'm not sorry to say.
Ardenwolfe if you're Looking for luxury join ng
Isaac Hernandez With all due respect, you've missed the point of this video and you're coming off like a jaded nit. I also see it's time to block you and your snotty commentary.

Wow, things have changed in 70 years, with that I might have made it a career. We had brick barracks in Maine and thought that was cushy.
Dorothy Luxton how old are you
Do you have any friends who decorate their dorms that wouldnt mind letting you do a tour of them?
holy shit. the marine corps barracks are half that size 2 marines per room and two rooms share a bathroom so 4 per bathroom.
ITS ALOT BET TER THAN I HAD BACK IN 1972 TO 1976 MCCOY AFB FL AND PLATTSBURGH AFB NY
Pump up the volume! Pump up the volume!
Nice video 😂 Thank you!
What the f my room is 1/4 of the size of yours with 3 roomates... Marine dorms always suck
man my first Barracks room in the Corps had blood on the ceiling and a trash bag taped up because my window was busted out
was it 53 Area (Horno) camp pendleton
Are we allowed to buy our own bed sheets or is there one type ?
Kaia you are beautiful!!
No sink in the kitchen area? Also, are dorms fully furnished, or do you bring your own?
Are you allowed to have your desktop (the tower) shipped to Tech school. Because... I'm cheap lol. I don't feel like buying a laptop when I already have a Pc at home. Would it cause a huge security issue?
Kenyatta Brant you might as well not even do it. You'll only be there for a few months, just wait.
That would have eight people crammed into it when I was in. With latrine/showers down the hall.
Damn I should have joined the air force I was in the navy it sucks living on a ship, lol.
Yup
heyy! question for ya, by the look of the video it seems that the men and women share a barracks? or is there a separate area for the women?
***** It's np haha and no I'm in South Korea at the moment and yes there are a few bases in Cali.
Awesome!! I am hoping for stationing there. thanks so much !! you will be hearing more from me soon!
***** depends on your job in the AF. Some jobs only have a few bases where you can be stationed while others have a large list of potential bases.

shit looks like a fuckin' hotel room lmao
Well shit. That room is twice the size of my 4-person navy barracks room, and 3 times as nice.
well dont you guys live on boats?
Juan Rivera Yeah, my room on the ship is a 6x3 rack.
Amerikanski education system is certainly interesting. You can go to AFA and still posting other university banner. In China, If I go to PLAAFAU and posting Fudan University banner. I will get interrogated by special branch organ of state security. (For being ungrateful student)
still cute as ever
y'all don't have barracks, y'all have motel rooms. last time I saw a place that nice, I was in a hotel. Just before we were shipped to basic. But then again, I'm Army.
Air Force is the way to go man
+John Plaster I see that now
Tim Lane The Air Force treats people with more care than other military branches
The army gets their phones every weekend in basic
only saw my phone once to make sure my family was coming to my graduation, depends on where you go and what battalion you're in
Being a fresh airmen just out of basic and more then likely doing my MOS training in texas what are my chances at a room that looks like the one above, and if not what kind of room do you think that I would be given?
How do you guys shop for groceries or supplies? I know most people who are stationed somewhere don't buy a vehicle for temporary use. Is the commissary a walking distancr from ur dorm?
Azn Pinoii At the commissary, bx and off base. I mean everything is pretty much walking distance depending on how far you're willing to walk lol
"One man" rooms WOW... 1970-80's 2 people per room, minimum. Not always someone of your choosing or liking. Best idea was to get on opposite shift of your room dog, and hope he has a cute girlfriend.. for when he's at work... lol.

jordan jacobson The pay is the same for every branch. And what's wrong with army? That was initially going to be my first choice but the whole aviation theme drew me towards Air Force.
Are you at kadena?!
Hai
Wait where are you stationed?
Stupid question maybe... can you wear makeup or like what are the standards for hair and all that?
During bootcamp your MTI tell you what to do with your hair and during bootcamp you aren't allowed to wear makeup but after you graduate bootcamp you can wear all the makeup you want
Thank you!
So how long do you stay in a dorm? When can you get upgraded to a home?
If you work as a reserve you don't move into a base.
No roomate???? Damnnnnn!!!!!!
Do you guys not share dorms or have room mates
No stove ?
Emjaylee Theres a cafeteria where theres plenty of free and delicious food
+southof76 well if you don't eat meat you wouldn't enjoy eating from the cafeteria. They use the same stove the meat was on and that goes into your system.
Wait, are males and females not sperated?
Were is this one located?
What base is this dorm at!??!!!??!!?!!!?
wait so you don't get a stove top?
In some dorms they do it really just depends
USMC barracks are full of angry drunk people and rats, you guys are living the luxury. Does your barracks also have a swimming pool and a tennis court? Oh and maybe a mega mall!? Wow!

When do you get to have your own room?
Everyone gets their own room after tech school. Sometime you have to share a bathroom or living area though
do you have to share rooms during tech school?
+Samantha Do yes
What base is this a tour of? :
pei barracks pension I.D. old age pension unnited state date
I'm super confused, so do you have a roomate or don't you?
+SunnyNutQueerios I did not have one in this dorm but I did in all my othr dorms, it really depends on how your dorm is set up.
+KindaCoolKaia OK cool thanks :)
What base are you at?
Jakeria Roberts On this vid or now?
I have another question, so when you had a roommate, like were both your beds in the same room or were there like separate rooms in one dorm? I leave for boot camp on jan 31 :D

mizzKarenbabii yes wifi u have to pay for
Those sons of bitches.
are you allowed to have a TV or cable?
Yes you are
I have sooo many questions!
Stacey J What Questions?
Which BLDG is this?
Since the dorms are coed, and you clearly have a dude in your dorm, does that mean they're cool with yall getting down if you know what I mean? Seems pretty lax in the AF!
southof76 I'm pretty sure every branch has coed dorms/barracks. If you join the military, you're an adult and they will treat you as one. They don't care what you do as long as it doesn't interfere with your work and it's a professional relationship.
