I actually like the fact it's not got a massive screen. All you need is a speedo and rev counter. Bravo Alfa for keeping it old school. I'm off to buy one.
I only have the Veloce, but my oh my, it’s an awesome car. Old school feel, responsive and balanced and so great for proper road trips.
Best part about these cars is the steering and chassis and thankfully the base model is nearly identical to the QVs in that regard. Same steering rack and patended double wishbone suspension. Plus less weight over the nose.
I’m collecting a Giulia tomorrow so happy!!! Thank you for your amazing videos !
Brilliant! 👍 Not jealous at all 😉 may be one day I'll be repeating your comment myself 🤞
Giulia Quadrifoglio is still on my dream to own list, unbelievable thing.
Alfa have potentially made the attainable dream 2 car garage.
Ideally, the Guilia would have an AWD option for our Canadian winters.
What a beautiful, fun pair of vehicles.
I believe the Giulia QV is available with AWD in some markets (but not here in UK)
@@TheRoybeasley The Quadrifoglio? It certainly is RWD only in North America. Never heard of it being AWD anywhere else.
@@mynameIan Sorry - my bad. I had seen references to Q4 versions in some markets and assumed (incorrectly) that this applied to the Quadrifoglio version. Apparently not.
@@TheRoybeasley it’s a shame that is isn’t.
It is really difficult to fight the SUV trend in North America. Very few AWD driver’s cars are left.
I have two Mini JCWs which have now been cancelled or replaced by larger SUVs by Mini.
We don’t get any BMW Touring models. We do get Audi is Avant format but only in hyper expensive RS formats.
The future is bleak.
Only Tiff can 'talk' a review while driving on the limit. Nice how you compare the two cars with their differences. Loved it!
Wow were not that far into the new year & you've been a very busy boy with some awesome car's already Peter love these Alfa's!!👌🏻👍🏻 Seriously looking forward to the rest of the year with whatever surprises you have for us!!👍🏻
The critical difference between the quadrifoglio that Sivocci had on his 8C and the emblem today is that Ugo's was in a 4 pointed diamond, this signified the 4 Alfa Romeo racing drivers , Ascari , Masetti, Sivocci and Ferrari . When Sivocci got killed , the others took away the 4th corner in a mark of respect and cloverleaf was from then on presented in a delta (triangle)
The Quadrifoglio story you tell, Matt, is the romanticised version. In fact, Sivocci's family says he was not superstitious and the Quadrifoglio badge was shown (in different forms) to distinguish factory cars from those of privateers at times not linked with Sivocci's accident. This is the official story from the Alfa Romeo museum curators, but everyone else repeats the same marketing spin 😀
@@bathembufutshane1462 unfortunately, Matt's story is the romanticised marketing story. Alfa Romeo's museum curators and historians cannot confirm why the Quadrifoglio went from being in a tilted square, to a triangle. In fact, the Quadrifoglio first appeared to help distinguish Alfa Romeo's team racing cars from those of privateers during events. Sivocci's grandson also confirms Ugo was not superstitious and, best proof of all of the speculative link to this driver's death is that Alfa Romeo marketing did not use it until 1964. So, don't believe all that you read (especially if said by those just repeating the story they heard).
Is it just me, or are the videos just getting better and better. Great video and great editing Pete👍. Soft spot for the Alfa
I am always trying to improve. Just wait till Friday. That’s a special video 👍
Big fan of the 2023 Giulia, hope this quadrifoglio is good too :D
Loved the video! I had driven round this track at an Alfa Romeo event with my car, unfortunatly we were prevented from driving fast.
Great reviews Pedro. Thanks.. A couple of very exciting cars there....
That green color sure is beautiful! Dang these cars are pretty and a lot of fun from the looks of them. Safe to say you had a fantastically fun day with these cars Sir Pete!
Oh Ped brilliant informative and again entertaining brilliant video thank you
That looked like fun and very impressive driving too.Well done.
Hi Ped
Great to see cars still very proud of their heritage and still clinging to some analog features. The heart would say Alfa every time.😉
Had a Stelvio QV loved it. I need to get back in one.
I can't believe that I got my Guilia QV in 2017! An immense car then and seems even better now. Alfa took us to Millbrook to play for a day which was great, but it was even better when I took her to a track day at Brands - nothing was anywhere near as much fun (unless in a Caterham!). I put Winter tyres on from mid Oct to early March and I think it makes a huge difference to handling and confidence in Winter months - R is also a nice setting... Great video.
Pete, this sedan remains one of the finest sport sedans ever made! I have owned 2 Giulia's since 2017....however not the Quadrifoglio versions. Currently driving the 2.0 Stelvio. I prefer the Giulia model to the Stelvio, but wife wanted a SUV. Great review!
Really enjoyed your review on the Giulia. Such a beautiful sedan, I want one! Did watch the Stelvio, sorry all SUV look the same to me.
The smile says it all Pete 👍
Brilliant, what a car. I was considering the Giulia when I got the Stinger, but was slightly out of my price range and was worried about reliability as a daily driver. Super video, love it. Do you have the best job in the world lol 😊
GQV all day! Nice drifts 💯 I love my GQV so much I’m about to hit 90k miles!
Almost bought the Giulia a few years ago, but it was sedan vs conv and the drop-top won! Loved the Giulia though!
As a Giulia Quadrifoglio driver I’m asking me even race mode is more fun if ‘dynamic’ is better for lap time. To drive precisely…
Thanks for this outstanding video. ❤
I now have a new favourite car! I haven't looked how much that giulia is, but I need to have one 😅, great video.👍
Love my 2.0tb Stelvio.......... wishing I could upgrade it to a Quad. Great vid Pete.
Alfa definitely produce some great looking cars, and the colour of that Stelvio is even better in the flesh.
Good to see that in these EV times there are still some great ICE vehicles to be had 👏🏼
I'm not a car I am an Alfa...as the ad goes. Looked like fun too. Cheers
Love this! My only complaint about the Giulia Quadrifoglio is the base car is so pretty, that I often miss the Quadrifoglio on the road, unless I can see the quad exhausts. Great video as always.
There is more than quad exhausts if you know your Giulia's 😉 Auxiliary front bumper vents, bonnet vents, front fender vents with Quadrifoglio badges, carbon fibre side skirts, rear carbon fibre spoiler... and then the quad-piped diffuser 🤪
As a proper petrol head, that’s the feel you want exiting a car. It’s one version of therapy 😌
Tremendous stuff!
Great video, would love an Alfa but my drive isn't long enough 😮
Nice video Ped. I have a 2019 qv. What a car it is. Have a fiammenghi H pipe on it and oem 2017 springs. The 18s and 19s had higher springs but the originals are way better. I remember watching one of your old QV review , it was one of those reviews that made me want to buy one. Had 3 M3s before the qv. The Alfa is a very special precise machine
For the 2019 model year they went back to the same springs as the 2017s. Only the 2018s had the 4x4 springs. I ended up putting Altissimo GTA Performance springs and GMS caster/camber kit on my car, along with GTAm CDCM. It went from awesome to bonkers!
Shame there’s so little options for the QV. What about a super lux pack and tan leather
Once upon a time, such a luxury spec would be sold by Alfa Romeo as a 'Quadrifoglio Oro' (gold) to distinguish it from the sporty 'Quadrifoglio Verde' (green). They have no imagination now.
This clip is sponsored by …..insert Tyre company here…..😂👍
Awesome, I'd have either...
That's got to be the best day out ever!
Looking forward to watching this. Any Quadrifoglio in Montreal Green.
Watching from just outside of Montreal.
Giulia is Top sedan in the world! 🍀 and now will grow up. for really entusiatic people. ❤
Hello pete
Great show, I prefer my tuned 4c since 10 years because it have the paddles on the wheel and weights 900kg regards thor from sweden
Different cars. And the 4c is notoriously for average driving dynamics unless the suspension is modified. Plus, it's a Maserati 🤪
I’ve had a Giulia 280PS RWD for four years and I see no other car on the market that looks so good and drives so well so I’ve just ordered the Giulia Q !!
Your video is a confirmation that I did well!!!
You can't call yourself a true car enthusiast until you have owned an Alfa Romeo. I've had 2 and l just wish l could have a Guilia QV next.
They sure look a lot larger than the ones I saw in the ones I saw in the late 1990 while in Sicily, I think the C4 was just coming out.
Got my QV couple months ago.
Been a BLAST. Corners like a dream. You can’t really floor it until you hit 3rd gear or else you just keep skipping tires LOL
Picking up a two years old Giulia Voloce next week; trading in a slightly older BMW 320. Can’t believe the driving experience and the ambience in the Alfa after a prolonged test drive. What have I been thinking about all these years? It bothers me not that the Beemer has a slightly better infotainment system, and the lower interior plastic isn’t quite as nice….big deal. The drive, the character; can’t wait.
Love my Giulia quadrifoglio absolutely mega car after always buying German cars it’s a breath of fresh air
A Friday upload? That means no lottery win for me. No-one is lucky twice in one day.
Peter…the car we should always promise ourselves…if only the dealers were good and reliability and build quality were up there with the driving feel. However..my cousin bought a nearly new Alfa 33 Green Cloverleaf and drove it for about ten years, did over 100,000 miles, it was parked outside her Somerset cottage every night in rain and mud but never let her down, never had any big bills and didn’t even go rusty….maybe luck but that was a good car only sold when she went to live in Florida! I looked at a white Stelvio in Falmouth last week..not the best colour but it still had presence…it still attracted attention…it needs bravery…that or a new Evoque??…..I think I know the answer!!🫣😎😎😎😃😃😃😃😃Stay safe, Richard.
Nice review. If you can choose to bring to your home just one of both as single daily drive car with your family, what do you pick: Stelvio or Giulia?
Great video Pete!
Prefer the purer great Giulia but it would have had far more success from launch ( against the m3) if it had had the following ingredients - a touring version for much better practicality and imagine the hype 6 years ahead of the bmw ! - a choice of colours for the inside (which bmw has) instead of the sad black only interior - a tuneful exhaust in all modes - and a 2/4 wheel drive system ( unlike bmw which gives you the choice) for family safety when daddy needs to drive sensibly…
As the Stelvio great car but a SUV…
Great video. Alfa Romeo lost to BMW and Mercedes in the last 40 years. I hope with their current and future range there is a great chance that it will dominate in the next 10 years and beyond! They are "mini Ferraris".
Eny problems with battery?
Can you tell the difference between the upgraded rear differential in the ‘24 model compared to previous models in the Giulia?
I loved that film today as I also like both those cars. My personal choice would be the Stelvio and I also looked at getting one when I was shopping for my E-Pace. Obviously I would have loved that version but budget halted that dream. The Giulia reminds me of the M2 but is in my opinion far more classy. At least I can feel as though I have experienced some of the thrills through your content so thanks for that.
Do you never sleep or you get up early on a Saturday morning to reply to TH-cam comments.@@PetrolPed
Good morning again Mr P did you see( of course you did ) the new Skoda Epic the Yeti inspired EV they have just released I hope you get it on your channel so you can give us your unbiased take on it.
On the Stelvio are the rear wheels smaller that the front ones? Look it in the video!
Glad you enjoyed it
The wheels are the same diameter, but the rear rims are wider, as are the tyres (although the front tyres have a marginally taller aspect ratio). It may be that the camera angles combine with these differences to make the wheels look smaller.
I would have the Giulia all day long.
I wish you’d say something about the difference between them, other than the obvous 4wd..? The much taller centre of mass & the extra weight of the Stelvio, things like that.
Maybe some simple laptimes? To be expected.
You journalist are the real reason Alfa Romeo doesn't do better in sales. You drive the cars, give them a good report then you go buy some other F-ing vehicle. Alfa and Maserati have that same issue. I own both, and really would never touch a Porsche.
I agree but I will also take it further. They keep repeating the mantra that Alfas are not reliable even though they beat the germans in the jd power study here and in the US. So they keep on sowing the seeds of doubt and it is fucking so old, can we just move on. Also, the journalists dont report on all the audi and vw engine issues or dsg gearbox issues. They dont report the insane out of oil leaks, coolant leaks and plastic parts that fail on BMW models, go check the forums. It grates me!
I just ❤both very nice 🇦🇺🏁❤️cars
I own a '22 QV. Alfa has been decontenting these since 2020 the high water mark for options. In 2020 you could option carbon ceramics, more colors and interior specs than any subsequent year. How is Alfa spinning that removing the e-diff on the '24 is an upgrade?
@@PetrolPedYou've driven both back to back like I have and come to that conclusion?
Random question but what is the make/model of your track helmet?
It’s a Stilo ST5 F Carbon 👍 Airbrushed by Piers Dowel. Check out this video 👌

Thx! Great vid and really interesting processes to get it airbrushed! @@PetrolPed
How do you rate the steering feel (and overall handling dynamic)of the Giulia with your Porsche?
Steering feel is on a par with any Supercar. Designed by the guy that did the Ferrari 458 👌
Handling is superb but my Porsche wins that one but not really a fair comparison. Front engined saloon vs mid engined roadster 😬
What are mrs g’s and th3 pooches thoughts on one of these appearin* outside or I; the barn on a permanent basis?
We ❤ AR
Just watched the video Peter which, for obvious reasons, I could not watch live! One of my questions last night should have been why it is necessary to re subscribe to your channel every time I watch a new video. This does not happen on Joe’s channel
It shouldn’t be 🤷♂️ Not sure what’s up there 🤔 Thanks for coming last night. Hope you enjoyed it 👍
ALFA ROMEO Top D++++ 👆🏻👏🏻👏🏻💪🏻🙏🏻😎🇧🇷🇮🇹 FIOTEIROS!!!
I'm back continue
I've never not driven my Giulia QV in RACE mode.
Wheel on the back looks small
I love the Giulia, such a beautiful looking thing. Such a soulful alternative to the increasingly ugly and ubiquitous Germans. I always thought that a detuned V6 would’ve been a nice addition to the range, for those of us with smaller pockets.
Erm what happened to the blue Giulia, was it stacked en route to the track 🤣.
LOL. That was the only one available during lunch when I did my external pieces to camera 😜
How reliable are these cars? I love the love of these cars i want one . Please talk of the reliability for would be future owners . Negative on my part i know .
@@PetrolPed Thank you so much for your reply PetrolPed. I'm talking of the distant past models . People really want to know about the common issues with these obviously fantastic models aswell. The very expensive belt change, the water in the footwells if a certain flap is left open, the constant engine check light issues etc etc . I was going to buy one from my local dealer in Nuneaton 2 weeks but didn't have the confidence to sign the papers.
Sorry I meant not the models of the distant past . My bad I'm not reliable either lol
The Giulia would look better with dark gold wheels.
Hello mate
And not an EV in sight. Splendid.
@@PetrolPed - I heard Alfa Romeo is switching to manufacturing only EV’s. That’ll be the end of them I suspect. Not a good move
@@timhicks2154 That is the same for all volume car manufacturers. They have no choice ! It's not if but when.
@@PetrolPed - sad. I drive all makes of car at work. I absolutely detest the soulless EV’s. Not keen on Hybrids either. None of it makes any sense. I do not understand why it is being forced upon us, other than to remove transport from the majority that can’t afford oversized, overpriced Scalextric cars
😆 18:54
The roads must be just full of supercars being delivered to youtubers.
Considering that green paint is an expensive option, the finish is appalling!
The Giulia Quadrifoglio has ruined cars for me. I never want another one. Absolutely flipping stupendous. Ha ha!!
Does the helmet make it go faster? I really don't understand why you are wearing a helmet but no other safety gear .... in a road car.
So what exactly is new about it!?
New digital instruments, lighter mechanical differential with GTA retuned suspension, LED adaptive headlights. In EU, UK and China also an extra 10HP, but same torque and 0-100km/h time.
A proper Alfa and not another suv. More saloons please and proper Alfas but I fear under Stellantis badge engineering will continue.
Great cars. They look very nice and finally the rear drive is back👍
I don’t understand why a suv is driven on track. That goes for all manufacturers of SUV’s.
Thanks GOD they got rid of the 'farts' its the one thing that always put me off. Sorry 😁 Nice to see them reviewed side by side.
Mouth watering Alfa’s but that Giulia in blue would be my choice, and sorry that 4 leaf clover badge looks tacky so would have to go in a debadging process. I’m old school and Alfa’s used to be known for poor reliability and rust so hopefully they have improved. Not a real issue for me as the only way I would ever be in the drivers seat is if my lottery numbers were slightly more lucky 😂 but then if they were I probably wouldn’t buy an Alfa. RS7 anyone? I don’t envy you at all Ped, great content as always 👍
poor reliabiliy and rust stigma is from the 70s and 80s , even the 90s Alfas were galvanised which stopped the rust so that cliche is long oudated by about 3 decades
The Quadrifoglio badge is tacky? WTF?! Haha. Stick with the Audi. 🙄
@@thomasferrarojr.9772 Thought that might put the cat amongst the pigeons 😂 These Alfas still look absolutely gorgeous
@@mattbettany1174 Very glad to hear it - did say I was old school 🤔
