because chinese mythology isnt very well known in the west or north. Also, Journey to the West has no english dub. It's all 100% in chinese, so not many english speakers know about it.
There are a bunch of stories, movies and games based of Journey to the West. Either directly or heavily inspired by it. And while Sun Wukong is the inspiration for the designe of Goku. Toriyama was heavily inspired by Jackie Chan and Hong Kong martial arts cinema when drawing/writing Dragon Ball.
I dont think that he would really care about a triple A game just because it contains the Inspiration for his work. They are already extremely many Media forms about it too already, like movies, series, anime etc. Edit: i did look it up, there are even several games already about sun wukong btw

I’d wait a bit. The game has issues like audio dropping for no reason, staggering , and screen freezing during combat and exploration even with higher end pcs. It’s a good game don’t get me wrong but it needs a lot of patch work

When I saw Goku when I was a kid, I already knew the resemblance to Wukong because in my country there is a show called Sun Go Kong that airs every day on TV.
From what I've heard (correct me if I'm wrong), Wukong's Staff can scale the deepest depth of the Ocean. So, the deepest part of the Ocean is Mariana trench and it's depth is around 11 kms. That means Wukong's staff can atleast stretch and enlarge upto 11 kms. a)13 times the height of Burj Khalifa. b)Around 3 kms taller than Mount Everest. Which means that the size would be freakin enormous🤯.
I was a child when there's a tv series of journey to the west and all kids enjoyed that show including me. So this game just really brings out my inner childhood again.

Any person with basic understanding of history knows that Chinese cultural, traditional beliefs, food cusines, dress ,architecture, script/characters etc heavily influenced other East Asian countries (historians called it as Sinosphere)

As someone who watched the Monkey Magic TV series from back in the late 70's, I already knew that connection.
Hell yes, old school monkey magic was the bomb back in the day, and it wasn't that hard to connect the dots between monkey magic and dragonball goku when db came along in the 80s

Toriyama had already shown his passion for Chinese culture in Dragon Boy, a manga in which he laid the foundations for Dragon Ball. Toriyama was also a huge fan of Jackie Chan: remember the character of Jackie Chun. So sad that he passed away before this game was released. Whether he plays it or not, he would have loved to admire the graphics and atmosphere

I was a child when there's a tv series of journey to the west and all kids enjoyed that show including me. So this game just really brings out my inner childhood again.

A lot of the stuff I grew up with was based of Sun Wukong. Even in Warframe we have Wukong and I absolutely love it.
