- I hope you can enjoy this format of the Divine Office of Compline. It is the last of 7 Offices of the day for the Monks and Nuns. Their days work and life is fitted around these Offices and each service is beautifully set for the time of day. Example at Vigil's we can show God our willingness to praise him in the very early hours 3:30am when most are asleep and the office of Compline is our final prayers before retiring, where we can ask God to protect us while we sleep. It is a wonderful structure for life, even if this modern day world that fights this type of devotions as old and antiquated. I have found that the old ways can be the best, even if they are demanding effort to complete.
I cannot follow all of the hours but try to do Lauds at 8am and Compline at 7:30 pm and Vespers if possible at 5pm.

A truly soul-lifting experience-Monastic Compline.The Church must re-introduce Latin Mass on Sundays.

This kid is literally me I have a set schedule in my mind and it overwhelms me when something comes up on purpose or not. So my parents got me a therapist and meds and now I’m more open to change
For years I have been using the Morning Prayer which makes my day. Recently I have started using this. I like it. It helps me to go to bed in peace. Thanks for posting it.
Sydney your are very welcome Sydney. The divine office brings structure to the monks life. It is a discipline but also a beautiful sung Psalm to our Lord. Compline is a thank you for the day and please watch over us till the next day. Which starts very early at 3:30 am.

In Rochester, NY, we have Compline the first Sunday of each month from October to May. It is done under the conducting by the head of the Voice Department and sung at Christ Church, on East Avenue. Those that chant/sing are 96% Eastman School of Music students. It is both beautiful and Prayerful. A nice end to the day. God Bless all of you.

The abbey is mount St. Bernard Abbey in Leicestershire England. It is not the monks singing they are much better than this. This is me with 3 overlapped recordings. I did the recording. It did take a long time for me to get it to work. But I wanted people to be able to follow the office completely and this is what I came up with.

Simple and beautiful. This has brought me solace for years, and got me interested in Catholicism, which led me eventually to becoming orthodox. Thank you for the part you played in my conversion to the fullness of the faith in this apostolic form. In Christ!
Edit:this all started maybe 3 years or so, so it’s been a long journey, ending/beginning this past April when I was chrismated into the Orthodox Church.

I have used this a number of times before going to bed. I like it. One small suggestion: Add English words to Salve Regina. It will help those who don't understand Latin.
Some nights at the abbey it is sung in English and is called Hail Holy Queen. God bless you Sydney

wonderful! i look forward to vespers and any of the other offices. i used to pray at least lauds and vespers and now i'm going through a time when it's not as easy to pray ---except for singing---so these videos are are indeed a blessing
I know what you mean when you say singing is a great way to pray, it is how I found God in the first place, hearing the monks at Mount St Bernard Abbey singing every day, was so uplifting and beautiful, it guided me to a more prayerful life. I still manage to do the night office every night.

Well whether it’s you or the monks it is very beautiful I’d give my right arm for a complete list of audio recordings for the little office of Mary I have a vision impairment and the eyestrain is so terrible I can barely make it to the office every day wish I could find it recorded so beautifully as you’ve done this

Well then 99% of people would not understand a word. The Word of God being song has been opened for all people, not just the few.
@@youthworker62 Learn Latin. It is the sacred language of the Catholic Church. Monastics always learned Latin, before monasteries were destroyed by Vatican II.
The plural of bell is bells, not bell's.
