@stickgs. You may already know this. Neil Finn of Crowded House has been playing Maton guitars for years and even has a rare 12 string electric model. Apparently Maton have a "Neil Finn" Signature model in development/ready for market. I am sure that Neil was "test driving" a prototype at this years' Glastonbury Festival. Looked like Maton had changed their "hole in the headstock" design for the NF Signature model (maybe?). Stay safe and well.

Tommy definitely brought a lot of attention to the name but even before he got his hands on one they were making superb guitars. I think it would have been a matter of time before other artists realised their quality and started promoting them.

Bought a used guitar from those guys a few years ago. Nice bunch. Nice guitars too. You DO need to call to make an appointment, it is truly a concierge level of service however. Went back last year and checked out a 12 string but it didn't fit my hands. I'm not from Nashville but pass through a few times a year. Great guitar shops in that town.
Those blackwood, maple and bunya pine guitars are awesome. As good as any rosewood or mahogany I have played. Worth a look if in the market but they are not cheap China imports but made in Australia and priced comparable to USA-made instrument price levels. The quality is USA-made level as well however and you get what is arguably one of the best transducer and pickup systems made for any acoustic.
Justin as always shows every instrument in it's best possible light. Awesome playing.

Exactly what I thought when I auditioned an EM325C (bog standard, satin finish, AP4 pickup) sometime around 2010 and became a lifelong Maton fan, reinforced by some of my favourite players endorsing them too. Great feel, great tone, great build quality. Cool to see someone with JJ's skills noodling around on some really lovely guitars, cheers for the vid mate

I learnt to play on an old Maton Alvarez. It was bought for my uncle in the late 50’s when he was a kid and it bounced around the family until it was given to me around 1990. Still have it, it’s rough as guts but what a piece of history. Proud Aussie, glad my first guitar was too😁
Also great videos Justin, love your style

The "rough as guts" proclaimed you as a proud Aussie before you said it.
Some people would tell you to get it restored... not a bit of it, leave it right alone. Cheers. 👍

@@sixstringedthing thanks mate. I doubt I will get it restored, it still has an old girlfriends name carved int the back of it. One day I will give it to one of my kids, then they will have the name of their mother carved into their guitar.

Oh the tone on that messiah! I don't even play, yet. I have about a year and my AC1M came yesterday, my first. I will play before I die and I will play a song for a hero who died of this rare disease I have, Aretha Franklin. Watch me❤.

You make a Nashville boy now nearly 40 years abroad very homesick. Great playing, and what a selection of guitars. Those cedars are somethin' else!

Met Steve at the CAAS convention last year, phenomenal guy, he was actually the guitar tech for Kiss, so the dude knows what the heck he’s doing.

A line from an old song comes to mind - he can play a guitar like ringing a bell...
