विश्व की सबसे लंबी नदी जो कि व्हाइट नील तथा ब्लू नील के खार्तूम (सूडान) में मिलने के बाद नील नदी के नाम से जानी जाती है। इसके पश्चात् यह सहारा मरुस्थल से होते हुए भूमध्य सागर में मिल जाती है।
