This song will forever be my go to. My boyfriend of 3 years in high school committed suicide and this song relates to us so much. It's been 11 years since his unexpected passing as of yesterday and I'll continue to play this song and think about him every chance I can. I have never been able to express how I felt about it and this song does me in every single time. I often think what if he we're still here ? Would my kids exist ? Would we be together? Would my life be completely different? I will never fill this void in my heart that you left John. Nobody can ever stop the love I will always have for you💕 rest in peace my angel. My best mate lost his battle with cancer last year and this is the song he asked them to play at the funeral. Miss you mate, fly high.
The story behind this song is It was really a sad story. The composer was engaged with his long time girlfriend. As they depart for work, his girlfriend died and was one of the victims of the 9/11 incident at Twin Towers. He was so deeply heart broken and devastated. Thus, he composed that song in honor of his girlfriend.
I read some where else , they said its about his brother who died when they were little. Idk which one is true.

It really fascinates me how some songs aren't popular from their country of origin yet become huge in other countries, this was extremely popular in our country during the late 2000s-early 2010s and I found out that it barely got any attention in Canada where FM Static are from. I think it gives some perspective on how one country's culture can be totally different from the other.
