At 2:38 I think you'll find that these are called Boil Jars.
Not a very pleasant subject I may add, as they were heated up with a candle and placed on a boil on the human body, as the air inside cooled a vacuum would be created and the contents of the boil would be sucked out.
Quite horrible isn't it.

2:38 they made from glass and people use this things when they ill. Specially islamic countries use them. (sometimes Russia) I can say it helps for be normal when you ill. ( but don't use them when you have a temprature)
