My husband used to be like yours. When we were on vacation, he would drive way out of our way for yarn, needlework and quilt stores and was a huge enabler. Unfortunately, over the last couple of years, he has developed physical disabilities, including severe vision issues and now I do everything. (He's still a sweetheart, though). I'm glad you appreciate your wonderful guy!
Went to both hobby lobby's near me in one I watched the lady with a bucket taking everything that was on sale. I was told by the cashier that it took two women to clear it all out. The other hobby lobby never had anything.

Cleveland, Ohio sale was a couple weeks ago, but there is still a scarce pick left. I got a few things too because of finances and grieving. My mom passed a couple months ago, but because she left me a little money I did purchase some notions and some chainette yarn in purple. I plan on making a blanket to remember her by.
My children were 1 & 3 yr.s old. I would make dinner,they would be at the table to eat. I am putting the finishing touches,food, on the table. My X HUSBAND, LOL…would inhale his food and leave the table before I even sat down to eat. Leaving me to feed the littlies .
I said “ that’s it, I am no longer cooking until you stay at the table,until we are at least half way done “.

I have never been able to get to the hobby lobby sale only one of downfalls of being in a semi truck, however THIS year they finally opened a HL in the town that we shop at when we’re home in Wisconsin……made my hubby stop, he went to the front of the store when the cart was 1/4 full. His eyes bugged out when I came to the checkout and it was 3/4 full. His blood pressure went down when I told him the total was UNDER $60. So YAY! I am so thrilled 🦋

I have personally never gone to Hobby Lobby's yarn clearance. I live far enough away from our closest HL that I talk myself out of it. If I happened to just be in that town during the sale I would love to look it over. Your "fluff" looks like cotton candy. It'll be fun to spin up! My hubby likes to do things for me and spoils me rotten. I also do whatever I can for him. I think it works better that way! Enjoy the rest of your vacation! 💜

I should have drove to LR. The Benton store had nothing left when I went in there last week.
Women like us Jennifer are BLESSED. I too have an amazing husband who has also thought my children to take out garbage and Mom does groceries they bring them in from the car. Mom doesn’t open doors if they are with me. He supports my hobbies as I do his. The list is long, and I always hear…. Oh Mel your Lucky. I’m like No I prayed for a man like this for many years. 24 years and counting, and I love him dearly. You go Girl… be proud of you husband. Enjoy life, we only get one 🥰

Glad you found some clearance fluff to practice with, can't wait to see what you spin with it. I'm in middle TN and haven't seen any HL clearance at all. My closest are 45 and 60 minutes away. So maybe I missed it and so did everyone else I know here that crochets. I'm same way, I was the 50's housewife too, that all has changed LOL. Your hubby sounds just like my fiance. That's a good man and a keeper.

No good yarn stores here except Michaels. All other yarn shops are wool shops and very expensive. No significant other - I buy my own yarn. So, watching you get yarn cheers me up.

My local store always does the sale late as well. I also bought fluff (the rainbow riot, an ivory, and the same gray you have) my haul was less than 20. I haven't used previous years yarn so also making intentional purchases because I don't want to stash just to be stashing

Ohio here I got about four skeins of blanket yarn that I wanted. Otherwise they were cleared out. Ha ha no problem. I still got tons of yarn from a year ago when they did this in March.
Ok. Now I’m going to have to check out what Hobby Lobby is doing in Idaho. There’re 2 stores in Boise/Meridian area.
My local stores are the same way, they mark down weeks after everyone elses

Jen❤ I, like you, swore I was not going to partake in the HL clearance bc I have large stash as well. However, my "nosiness" got the best of me, and I scored Spinesse by yarnbee. I love that yarn...using it to make the vicountess top! I went to my local one and one 30 minutes from me. I have a bestie yarnie friend I'm going to share my haul with bc her store in another state was sold out and she loves spinesse as well. Why do yarn companies always discontinue the yarns we love???? My hubby just rolls his eyes when I buy yarn... he knows I love yarn lol. I tell him how much I saved, and he is better....and yes, bills are always paid first!

In Maryland my sale was later as well. Only color theory and loopy yarn for sale. I didn’t buy anything. I was disappointed. But I really have to travel an hour to get to a good store
You can never have enough drop spindles! I’ve collected them for years. I even have one that’s about 30” long. I’m waiting for you to get better at your spinning wheel, then I’ll send you a little electric spinner.

I have never gotten to my Hobby Lobby during their clearance sale. My HL is small & I have noticed over the years that the yarn dept keeps getting smaller & smaller. Also, their fabric & notions dept keeps getting smaller & smaller, too.
It is very annoying!
But, the decor stock keeps getting bigger & bigger. Pretty soon the whole store will just be stupid home decor 😠
Unfortunately, HL is the only craft store nearby. I wish we had a Joanns or even a Michaels, but no such luck :(

I haven’t been to Hobby lobby’s since the beginning of May. Hobby Lobby, Michael’s and Joann’s are an hour away from me in Ft. Smith Arkansas. I won’t be going back there until my next doctors appointment in July…so I will probably miss the sale. Does Hobby Lobby only have the clearance sell in June?

Hi Jen, I did go to the HL sale after watching your how to shop the HL clearance sale.😂 ,but as it turned out, I didn't need it. There was nothing left on day 2. I went to 2 HL and was able to find 4 cakes that i wanted . The rest was yarn I do not use. Disappointed. The years sale was not like previous sales.😢
You are lucky because my hobby lobby don't do s*** here in Santa Fe New Mexico!! They actually put out clearance yarn that nobody will buy. The hobby lobby clearance yarn for us is so sad I honestly believe that they probably go to Albuquerque. 😢😭

And I was so excited because she said it was from premier, but then I looked in. The video was from three years ago, then I looked at this video you had and then I saw your video from three years ago, actually demonstrating the chameleon yarn and thenbag day crochet she was showing the chameleon yarn. What the heck is going on something that was created three years ago and no one makes it because I looked all over. Make something like that for the summer?

I'm the opposite, I love that pheasant color. I have light browns, creams, and grays in my house. I wear very neutral colors, and B n W. I'd love to see you spin it 😊. I vowed not to hit the sales, and I'm proud to say that I did not purchase any yarn during the clearance sales. My son saw my yarn room and said " Mom, you have a problem " 😂😂😂

I was in my local Hobby Lobby, I’m from Corning, NY, the day the lady was marking it all down. I bought seven skeins of chain-ette reaction, four cream and three lavender, that day. I’ve since bought four spools of clearance crochet thread. Oh! And I bought a storage bin that first trip.

I went last Friday and there were no signs and so I thought it was not there, but it actually was on. I got two different yarns all of one type do not remember names, both I have plans for, I was happy It was also my Birthday. The 21rst, it would have been over 200 dollars but i spent $75 dollars. Birthday money not bill money. I am quite happy. Houston, Tx
I'm blessed with a Chris like yours who took me on a business trip with him to Tennessee and was able to hit the Hobby Lobby sale there. I was so tempted by the glowing yarn because I think it is so beautiful, but I just knew that when I go to make things, I rarely reach for variegated yarn and I have so much of it already in my stash, that I stuck to yarn cakes (Yarn Bee Sugarwheels) and also Yarn Bee Spinesse (I'm a lightweight yarn girl). I did get a few of the variegated velvet like yarns to make some scrunchies and/or amigurumi. I also got several of the clear pouches (the larger ones and one of the smaller ones that said Gnotions) and some bags, and I stocked up on buttons that were clearanced out. I also got a couple of the hooks, but I'm not sure that I would recommend them since I know that some of them of that style (the ones clearanced out) have broken on me in the past (hence probably why they are clearancing those out). I will just be more careful when using them to restrict them to making something with light weight yarn so that they don't break. Hugs & blessings and happy spinning!

Mr C is a good man , very kind of him to take you . I did score Glowing which I’m using to make berets and cowls for me and my friends . We are attending a conference in Branson in the Fall . I like to bless my friends with my craft !❤❤❤❤
My hubs brings in the groceries. We get home and he always tells me no go on in I’ll bring them in the house you can put them away. We are lucky.

Jen I am 80 years old old and single , so I pump my gas , I mow the yard, starting the mower with a pull cord, and use the snow machine. All this to to say not everyone has the luxuries of a husband. My husband died almost 40 years ago. my dad was the one that said I could do anything. FYI not everyone is lucky like you to have a good man.❤

Really pretty fluff! My Hobby Lobby in Oxnard, CA had so much fluff on markdown. I got the last 3 skeins of the thick thin from Yarn Bee-this was the last of the actual yarn besides the fluff. I was not going to participate, but I was right next door so I popped in there! Spent just under $9. Yarny life, happy wife, LOVE IT! Thankfully my husband just says, if you need it get it LOL! He points out the yarn stores or the yarn section in Walmart. He has learned to just roll with it!

I didn't know what that "spinning yarn" was to be used to make. IT IS SÒ SOFT! Sò Ì used a whole skein tò crochet a pillow for my cat! She loves her head higher when she sleeps. She loved it so I made another one. Of course I wash & dry by machine. Tĥat just tightens up the weave.
Mr. Cinnamon is a 💍. Keep that man happy, too.😅

Hi, Jenn! No, the washing instructions for your “fluff” don’t change if you spin the roving/fiber into yarn. The instructions are based on the content of the fiber and how it was prepared prior to manufacture. Since it says hand wash & lay flat to dry, I’m guessing that the wool content is not Superwash-treated, which means that it will most likely shrink if you wash it and agitate it in a washing machine, and certainly if you dry it in a dryer! I know you said you were going to hand wash it anyway… I just wanted to answer your question since you’re a fairly new spinner. Happy spinning with all your new “fluff”!
I went to my local H L in Burlington iowa. I don't think they had all their stuff marked down yet. The last clearance, there was a high school aged girl marking stuff down on a Saturday. She was rushing around and proficiently getting things done. I didn't want to interrupt her work, so I got what I could and came back on Monday. This time, they had some stuff marked down but I've seen other yarn hauls with more kinds of yarn clearances. I did manage to get the fluff of different colors, though! I'm going to attempt spinning on a drop spindle! I also got some crochet thread that had sequins attached. I got silver and gold. I would have loved it if it had come in white with opalescent sequins! I'm going to use them for Christmas ornaments. ...maybe in some snowflakes!

I went to Lake George NY Hobby Lobby about 3 weeks ago. Nothing was marked and the associates I felt were on the rude side. The money I set aside I did an order on we crochet to do the MJs of the hook New crochet pattern and paid for the pattern. That took my budget for Hobby Lobby. I felt good about purchasing a pattern and yarn to make a project I like. I have 2 LYS near me. This weekend I may stop at one of my favorite LYS in Shelburne VT.

My husband is awesome too! He has started looking for yarn and hooks stuff on his weekly internet auctions. In fact he's picking up a couple items he won the bid on. 😁 And after he picked up my Joanns order, he ran back in to get two more balls of yarn so he can use the coupon. 🥰

I am not allowing myself to go in a Hobby Lobby this year. I can not pass up a deal and have no need for anymore yarn. I no lie, have filled up almost 3 room with yarn! Mr. Cinnamon is so sweet. I was blessed here in TN that last Wed our local Hobby Lobby finally did their mark down. I got a great haul and only bought what I wanted and knew I would use for projects. I did get some of the glowing and most of the scarfie lite as I love that yarn and also some of the Alpaca as that is a great yarn for hats and scarves.
