The Wave 8 is the best heater I've ever owned, I use it daily to warm my mobile home and it sips propane. No odors or toxic fumes. The Buddy heaters would make me sick after a few minutes.
After watching your video I got the wave 8. The smell with propane heaters also bothered me. With the wave 8 I have not smelled anything at all. It works real good so far. I have only ran it a few times and I am very pleased with it. Thanks for the video.

That's the cream of the crop when it comes to heaters. So expensive though. I've got a Flameking 3000btu catalytic heater ($61 amazon) and I'm really happy with it. It uses those green cylinders but can also be hooked up to a bulk tank. It's easier to light. Just turn the knob to high and press the ignitor button a couple of times until it lights which starts the chemical catalytic reaction. That's it. If you need more btus you can buy more than one. Just another option for those who don't want to spend the money on the wave. I don't trust the flame heaters like the buddys because of the fire risk and noxious fumes so those are out for me.
I open 4 of these and I've been using them to hear my house for 8 years, they're awesome! One very important tip: Buy a cover and always keep the cover on when not in use, or the catalytic element will contaminate if you don't (they call that poisoning) and will quickly degrade. These things are very expensive but if you are very careful about keeping the cover on when both in use, you should get many great years of service out of them, I know I have and I love them.

Because kerosene smells, burning kerosene smells, open flame can be a fire hazard, dont want to store the fuel, and fuel does get old. None of thise things are a problem with my wave 8.
The Wave heater uses a flamess combustion process and no electricity. Thats the point. The heater you are talking about uses electricity. Im really not sure what your point is. My heater is for power outages.
No. More like $400.00 at campingworld and worth every penny when it is sub zero temp outside and power is out and you cant handle mr heater smell and want to stay away from a warming shelter. Funny... lots people dont have a problem buying a PS5 toy for $600+ ...but when it comes to prepping for this kind of thing, they look the other way. I put 2 links in for price info. I got mine at camping world. They also make smaller units for less money.
I also had a Mr. Buddy, which I believe should only be used for short-term durations, never while sleeping. I have used two Wave 8's for 6 long, cold, Canadian winters in my full-time live-in RV. They are expensive to buy, but they really do sip propane, a 30-pound tank lasts about six days on low. I would highly recommend them, they are efficient, smell free, and very safe.

Heater because I got sick from it also due to allergies to the sulfur dioxide that they add to the propane that makes it smell bad so you know there's a leak.. I wouldn't have known why I was sick if he hadn't put out this video.. I thought it could be the heater but since I have researched this I have found out what the truth of the matter is.. From the mr. Heater I got terrible headaches a very hoarse voice and vertigo and my eyes burned.. So don't go telling people that the mr. Heater and I guess the mr. Buddy is the same way since it's the same company, that it's safe for indoor use for everyone... I hooked it up to a brand new 20 lb propane tank, I got the mr. Heater hose that goes to the 20 lb propane tank and I had good ventilation.. the store I bought it at which was Ace Hardware didn't have the fuel filter at the time I bought the mr. Heater and it turns out they didn't get it for 2 weeks so I ordered it online and got it that way.. It didn't help I still got sick.. plus the mr. Heater would not light half the time.. even though I use their recommended hose that they say didn't leave the oils from the hose like other hoses did.. but apparently it does cuz half the time it wouldn't work.. the heater either wouldn't light or wouldn't stay lit or it's shut down after using half a tank of propane.. I did put in a 1 lb green propane bottle which is what they recommend for this heater.. and after about an hour of running it with that little bottle I switched it over to the hose and then sometimes it would light and sometimes it wouldn't.. The 1 lb green bottles are a cleaner grade of propane but even with them on it I still got sick... But they don't tell you that if you have allergies or lung problems do not use this heater ..you have to get sick first.. So now you are educated on this matter

Just bought this beast the wave 8 and I’m really impressed. I had the wave 3 and that wasn’t quite cuttin the mustered good heater just to small. Anyway these are great heaters well worth the money in my opinion thanks 😊

This is super helpful. I've been watching a few Olympia Wave videos with an eye on buying one for my van. The Propane smell is killer for me so that takes care of the Buddy. I like the safety of this one. In my trailer I used an oil heater as I have to have quiet but it did burst a leak on me once (with the emphasis on burst - oh yeah - what a mess) so now I'm considering this one as I figure it's quiet, no permanent open flame, no smell, propane not likely to leak.
Oh cool. Do you think it’s ok to use as supplemental heat in the house for a few hours a night? We would use it in our family room and turn it off before going to bed. Thank you again
@Mickey F If you are talking about the Olymlian Wave and follow directions and warnings in the manual, it should be fine. We use ours. People use theirs in their RVs. Safest to keep the tank outside.

How high off the ground does it sit with the leg kit installed? thanks meaning distance from bottom of heater to floor with leg kit
1-2” closer in the rear higher in the front and that’s because it leans back a little .
What made you choose this vs. a kerosene Kerosun style heater?
Because kerosene smells, burning kerosene smells, open flame can be a fire hazard, dont want to store the fuel, and fuel does get old. None of thise things are a problem with my wave 8.

Some sites say 1 to 3 months. Some say 3 to 5 years. My propane will last indefinitely. I store many tanks.

Buddy is just as safe. If it wasn’t you would have reported cases of people dying from sleeping near the buddy heaters. I haven’t heard of any cases
