The price on the lens has just jumped up to $570US. Thanks to Dustin's review I jumped on the need for a wide RF full frame lens at the price shown in the video. Thank you Dustin!
I love nice, crisp sunstars and I don't mind manual focus or setting the aperture manually. These are characteristics on both my 21mm f/2.8 Zeiss Loxia and my 12mm f/5.6 Voightlander lenses. For me, however, the big draw back on this lens is that it does not have electrical connections to relay the EXIF Data (specifically the Aperture) to the camera. For others, this may be no more than a minor annoyance, but for me, it is unfortunately a deal breaker.
I’m with you there. I’d get it on some platforms with proprietary architecture, but Sony’s mount and interface are open, so there’s no reason to avoid including it. Even the CV primes have encoding for exif and aperture in them.
Doesn’t bother me. Peaks around 5.6 as expected, so one is going to use it 5.6-8 and plenty DOF . The slight mid frame ‘loss’ is probably due to a slight albeit well controlled “moustache “ field curvature which is very common with ultra wide lenses.
@@russellbaston974 it’s more of a pain for me for file management (organizing by focal length, aperture etc), manual IBIS entry, etc.the lens performance is fine, if unremarkable, that wouldn’t keep me from owning it.
Interesting first offering from Nisi. I think I’d jump on the CV 15/4.5 instead, since it seems similarly well rated, has the same 10 straight blades, and is far more compact while actually encoding exif. I like nisi though, hopefully they knock out something fun in the next offering!

I always miss having EXIF data, too.

This is definitely a good start for them.
Which lens are you referring to?
@@arthurgphotography the voigtlander super wide heliar 15mm f/4.5
Very cool lens, it is one for my list. Thank you for adding a Canadian site for purchase.
My pleasure!
It is good for real estate photography, what do you think guys?
It's not a bad option.
Nice sun star
Agreed
@@DustinAbbottTWI Are you going to add this lens to your kit?
Still waiting for the Nisi 75mm f/0.95 lens...
Well, that lens doesn't exist yet, so you may have to wait a little longer.
