Just want to give this guy a shout out for being awesome. I'm currently cramming for my Algebra 1 final tomorrow and you've been a better teacher in the last 10 hours than what my own Algebra teacher or tutors have been for the entire semester. I need an 83.7% to pass the class so wish me luck!
Just wanna ask why is it 2xy^2 not 2xy^3? Because 2x^1 * y^2 = should have a exponent of ^3 right? Since we r multiplying and we add exponents when we multiply?.?
Go to question, Marithe. what you’re saying is correct, only if the bases are the same. In this case, since we have different bases of X and Y, they don’t combine in the way you mentioned.
In case you're still reading comments 5 years later: With the last one that had 8x^3 at the beginning and y^3 at the end of the solution; would you want the answer in degree form (all variables ^3 down to the constant) or leave the answer as it is and that's good enough? Many thanks.
#yaymath How do you know when it's necessary to use the FOIL method? When you wrote (2x-y)(2x-y) twice at 4:02 in a circumstance similar to this, when do you know it's necessary?
You are right it does foil into (2x-y)(2x-y)(2x-y) at 6:15 he multiplies the product of (2x-y)(2x-y) by the 3rd (2x-y) it is easier to foil 2 sets of brackets at the same time instead of doing 3 at the same time.

did you pass????
did u pass?
Lmaooooo nope
@@christianlafferty9439 😂😂😂 it’s all good ❤❤❤
howd u do?
THANK YOU VERY MUCH YOUR BETTER THAN ANY MATH TEACHER WHO HAVE EVER TEACHED ME
I was having a lot of trouble with polynomials, but now I think I'm almost ready to take my GED test.
how'd it go?
how'd you do?
Out of high school still watching
I really like your teachings sir!

Hi Andrew, I think you want to leave it as simple as possible. So the way the video does it seems to do that as far as I can tell.

when the variables are different (x y) then u cant multiply and u will always have to foil
Best plz....make more ex. on polynomials for practice......
keep it up.....👍👍
The new Yaay on the streets ... I’ll take a key of them Poly’s!
Yay finally a new upload
yay so new... im 7 years late
Thanks, great video, 👍👍👍🤓🤓🤓
Thanks this video was very helpful, yay math.
Wait- but why does (2x-y)^3 FOIL into
(2x-y)(2x-y)
And not
(2x-y)(2x-y)(2x-y)?
The factor/variable/whatever-it’s-called is ^3, not ^2

Yea nah this dudes high as balls I already know just from the intro music and the snow hats from other videos😂
this was so helpful
So delightful :)
By the way I’m a grade 10 student
Been some time, buddy.
wait why subtract the whole thing
This is difficult
why it’s not +4xy " Question : (2X-Y)3" when you multiply -2xy by -2xy it should be +4xy not -4xy !!!!
Kinda amazing
This is so confusing..!!!! I didn’t understand teacher
Ikr sameee. (Though you commented this 2 years ago) lucky
#yaymath do you tutor?
4RT!!!!
hi lyceum
*OH I HATE EVERYTHING*
2:35 tbh that was cringe
