Wow Stella, I’ve watched you from the beginning of your hiking adventures. You really walking your own walk. I never seen you so happy to walk outside side of the bubble.
I did the Frances September/October 2024. I remember today's stage very well. I didn't take the extremely steep detour intentionally, I had my eyes on the ground following yellow arrows, and realized too late that I wasn't following the set of arrows that I had intended. It was pretty hot, and I was short on water without resupply. Basically no-one else took that route and I was completely alone, not common at that time of the year. However I found a beer at a small place near the end (another detour to get there), and I ended up being happy for the mistake. I spent 27 days walking and only had 2 days more than 40km, and lost 7 kg which I didn't know I had available to lose. Your Camino makes me interested in trying a winter Camino, but Your days seem very impressive in length.
Stella, you were counting miles, not kilometers? Those are crazy distances. I am watching to see if you make it in 25-26 days! I am an old lady and hoping to make it in 35-36. You are a warrior!
Stella is doing massive distances - Ponferrada to Vega De Valcarce is about 42km (just over 26 miles). She is one fit fiddle, and a machine walking so far with apparent ease!
