Moved to Fayette county from Western N.Y.S. Have spotty wifi, no cell phone signal at the house, and...I love it! People are friendly, its quiet, no one bothers me and the scenery is gorgeous. What more can a simple man like me ask for?
West Virginia is the last state I have to visit and I will have all 50 checked off👍. Planning my trip to West Virginia for 2023, I can't wait, thanks for the ideas on places to go and see👍
If my memory serves me correctly, we all tried to smack our paddles against pillow rock as we got ripped past it. Such a beautiful place. Love that bridge, love that river and loved that sky. Wow. This is my favorite one from you yet. Beer looked great, that Mothman one sounded awesome. Love me some local legends.
How fun! I’m glad you got to go rafting there, too, it’s such a once-in-lifetime experience! And I love local legends too! Like my whole road trip is about beer in the outdoors, someone ought to do a road trip about paranormal things. There’s so much out there!
Your 40% from your goal of all 50 States. The pizza looked good at the end. Love the little towns to just walk around & look at some of the shops. When we go camping we always go into a small town & buy something somewhere just to support a local business. One of the coolest ones was a rock shop that had lots of really cool rocks in it.
Oh that’s awesome! Gotta love cool rocks. I like to do a lot of small town walking too. When I was in Vermont, I came across this little town that was just so charming. I didn’t know places like that actually existed!
Mothman sightings were especially common right before natural disasters, including a bridge collapse. And that made people think there may be a connection, but is Mothman trying to warn us?...or bringing the chaos and doom with him?!?!? Fun video, congrats on #20!
Do you ever get scared being alone everywhere? I am going to be 70 next month, planning to start traveling in my SUV with my dog, Snoopy. Wish i were fearless like you!
I’m definitely scared sometimes! It took lots of baby steps to get where I am. Traveling with other people, traveling for shorter periods of time, going to places with a lot of people around… My other piece of advice is to prepare, prepare, prepare as much as possible beforehand and then when you get out there, try your hardest not to think about any thing scary. Even unrealistic things, like ghosts and aliens. Do your worrying ahead of time, in other words. Once you get out there, try thinking happy thoughts only or distract yourself by listening to podcasts, watching movies, etc. Best of luck, my friend. I know it’s so hard, but it’s such a good feeling to feel like you can go wherever you want without having to depend on other people!
Oh no way! That’s awesome, hope I did your state justice! Although, I have a question- are pepperoni rolls served warm most of the time, or is it more like muffins were they could be warm or room-temperature?
@@BeerinBeautifulPlaces you did a great job…though I actually live in Ohio in a city just across the border from WV. Pepperoni rolls can be either. I prefer them warm but seem to eat them room temperature most the time just due to convenience (getting one while on the road, etc). They are so common in this area that I often forget that they are a local food.
I am excited to see your journey to NRG tonight. We recently passed through and had a great vehicle friendly campsite between Thurmond and Thayer campground.
Glad see you enjoy our state. Lots of hidden gems. Just don't let our old mean Mothman get you while trying find them. He really harmless just a prankster that enjoy to scare the pee out of people.
I had a bike horse, tied rope for reins to the handle bars….didn’t end well 🤕 thanks for the memories and taking us with you on your beer and states quest.
Yes!!! You are one of my own! I remember holding the streamers that came off my handlebars to be reins! I could see how the rope could have not worked out so well!
Congrats on 20 States! I gotta learn to travel more like you do. Look for things to stop along the way. My dog always likes to stop for a walk. Will load All Trails!
Haha.. Maddie participates in the most iconic rafting adventure known to the United States, happens upon it some time later when there aren't 67 people perched on pillow rock diving (maybe-clothed) onto the odd creature craft passing by and does or doesn't make reference to the New river being the oldest.. Ever. Stay tuned good greif she cute.
G,day Maddie What a coincidence ! 36 degree's where you were, and as I watch this its 36 C here (95f) . Nice river, nice bridge and Beautiful Sun Set. I always have a drink at hand but I'm Diabetic. Love little Markets, always good for a feed and a bit of local knowledge. I assume your still at home? Don't forget your vehicle maintenance, and check your tyres, very important. But you know that. So, be careful, have some fun and Drink some beer. Might do the same, got a Swan Larger in the fridge calling my name. All the best Bluey
Aw that’s great! I would much rather be in 36 C, personally. It’s pretty stinkin hot but I just can’t stand the cold! Hope you and your mates are enjoying the summer and keeping healthy!
We spent several weeks in WV last fall……closest camping we could find to BLM/FS land out west (we’re from KY). Loved the Monongahela NF. It was quite a bit warmer then your visit!
Just realized your 8 pm is my 7 pm in Ontario, Canada, well eastern Ontario to be exact. This province is so large it has two time zones. See you at 7/8

WV has some of the prettiest views anywhere. You caught it at a good time.

Yeah, it is pretty annoying to keep having to find bathrooms while I’m out and about, but usually there’s at least a gas station nearby wherever I am!
