- The George Municipality says police have officially taken over the investigation into the cause of the building collapse which claimed the lives of 33 workers over a week ago.
All the bodies have been accounted for.

They said 81 and yet it was 62..it must be a fly by night company.. No register, the number of employees that were on site is not known. They over estimate by 19, not by one or two

Forensic investigation: would they still be able to conduct a thorough investigation on site or in the building rubble even though it's been removed from the site?
I believe the Police will lead the investigation and the professional team (engineers, forensics, DoL inspectors etc) will report to SAPS.
I wondered about that comment too! Perhaps like downed airplanes - the "rubble" was deposited to a _safe site_ (yes I'm streching South Africa!!) - and will then be sifted through by investigators? Once flattened for "safety" there *is* nothing to investigate I would think.

...all bodies counted for? Mind your language SABC. Where rescuers looking for trapped bodies or trapped people?
