Buying a 1982 Toyota Pickup 4x4

Well my buddy decided to buy another Toyota!
This time it's a 1982 Toyota Pickup 4x4 that we had delivered from the California desert.
We were pleasantly surprised with the things we found upon our first look at it.

I just bought an 80 long bed. I don't like carbs so I bought an aces efi kit for it. These old Toyotas are the best. Can't wait to see what you do with it.

Congrats man! I’ve thought about getting a holly sniper efi for mine also. Some days I get tired of the carb

@@dimitripatsis7418 I looked into the sniper but it's around 1100 bucks. I've heard some good things about that aces kit and they have it on sale for 799 right now. With the money I saved I bought a new 91 efi 2wd tank $149, a new fuel tank assembly $109, new fuel pump $70, new float $20 (the 1980 fuel float fits), new fuel lines and fittings $100. Wish me luck, hahaha.

@@eljefe09 That’s awesome! Is your truck 4x4? My truck is in need of all those things but having a hard time finding replacement tanks for the 4x4

@@dimitripatsis7418 yeah mines a 4x4, but from what I read the efi 2wd tank is a direct it. I'm not sure why a 2wd, maybe because it's cheaper.
I sourced all that stuff on eBay, way easier and free shipping on most of that stuff. The fuel pump I just bought the stock 91 pump at AutoZone because of the warranty they carry and the convenience of being local if it craps out on me.

@@eljefe09 I’ll have to look into it! Any reason you wanted to switch to the electrical fuel pump from mechanical? I’ve been debating electric after going through a couple mechanical pumps that failed

Those bars next to the roll cage in the bed are rock sliders for when you're off-road and don't want to damage the body on rocks.
Also that steering looks stock. A hi-steer setup would have the tie rod and drag link above the leaf springs. The trail gear plates on the diffs are just protection for the diff. I wish my truck had power steering and a/c haha. That's a cool truck!

Appreciate all the info! I ended up buying the ac off my buddy and yanked it from the truck already haha. It was added into this one anyways so I don’t feel as bad
