May I ask - do very many Japanese have traditional Japanese home decor? Or would there be more western style rooms? I feel the Japanese style is so relaxing.

I think that Western-style rooms are becoming more and more common in Japanese housing.
Japanese-style rooms are gradually decreasing.
This is especially true in large cities such as Tokyo, where many people live in apartments.

新幹線でぱーっと行くのもいいけど、一泊かけてゆったりフェリー旅っていいですよね！
