Thanks a lot! took some time but adding breath of magic really helped boost it. Killed crystal with phys attacks and then it was repeat of mechanics. Good guide.
Glad this was helpful! I'm fairly sure there are some other ways to speed up the kill time, but as they say, a clear is a clear. Thanks for the kind words =D
It is pretty fun up until you get to the Crystal spawn that causes magic immunity. Then it is very slowwwww. You just have to dance around the repeating mechanics after. Best advice is to make sure you dodge that Quake during Goldor Rush. That killed me more than anything, there are so many other AoE going on, but you have to just focus on dodging that one the most.
Thanks for the guide, managed to beat it. The Rush is such a random bag sometimes, that was the only thing that really tripped me a bit, especially without sprint for the umbrella achi.
Glad it was helpful! Rush always got me with the quake. I would forget that the next outer ring was coming right after, and I'd be caught in a bad position. Just had to force remind myself "DODGE THE QUAKE! DODGE IT!" then it was GG
I'll have to give this a try, didn't know killing without destroying crystal was an option, and I see now it is going to take a bit longer than it did when I did it the other way. A shame it doesn't give you like an additional meld slot or two seeing as none of the blu weapons give stats otherwise. Just be nice to get something better for the effort other than just another look of a weapon x.x
Yeah I was hoping it would have another meld slot myself. Still a nice minor flex item I guess. I was thinking at least one of the weapons would give you something better, we had a 2 slot last tier already =/ Good luck with it!
I'm always unlucky on the Goldor Rush and Blast part, the AOEs are ALWAYS spawning on the path where I'm supposed to dodge, both clockwise and counter clockwise.
This fight is infuriating. Died after a wipe from a bad Rush at 1%, and now every single Rush phase whenever I make it back has the most cursed lightning spawns that guarantee I either die to them or the fire attack that *tracks you.*
Best I can advise is to focus on dodging the quake more than anything. It's a 1 shot compared to lightning and fire. Keep moving while rotating around the center quake hit, then dodge in quickly, and then continue dodging the rest of lightning and fire. Some patterns are more cursed than others. White wind yourself before the rush knockback goes off as well. It was frustrating to get through rush for me, also.
So I initially was going to say that you should remove Whistle for Both Ends, but when I did it, Both Ends destroyed the freaking crystal. Considering that I only used it like 3 times, it's definitely better to have something else like maybe glass dance for the 2nd set of fireballs.
Yeah, Whistle wasn't really used here. It was a remnant of the previous set I had before I moved stuff around. Could have used Triple Trident instead, to at least have some other ability to use that damages the boss anytime. There are also other better alternatives if you have all the new spells.
No, it doesn't affect Nightbloom. It affects Breath of Magic though. At least, Bristle disappears when I cast Breath of Magic, so I can only assume. Pretty sure those spells snapshot whatever buffs when they are applied, like Song of Torment does. You can test this out by casting Bristle, then casting any spell, if the buff disappears, it likely applies to what you just cast. Almost all of the long cooldown abilities are unaffected by Bristle. Thanks!
Reading the tooltip of Bristle tells you it boosts the potency of SPELLS, Nightbloom is an ability (OGCD), not a spell (GCD), so you can check which is boosted by Bristle (there is another good one from the new spells which can be boosted too, Mortal Flame)
That is correct. If you go to your blue spellbook and use the filter option on top of the spell icons, you can filter by element to make it easier to choose.
Mortal Flame is considered magic and fire, so it should stop doing damage after the invulnerability. Haven't tested it though. Best bet is triple trident, phantom flurry, j kick, mountain breaker, and just a basic physical spell. Just don't lose your 6 elements in the process.
@@karasutsuki1733 Unfortunately, no. If it was just side content, I wouldn't have an issue with making such a long fight. But this is required to complete the Blue Mage story quests.
When you get to the point where it says don't destroy the crystal (5:35), you can just do physical damage to the crystal on the outside of the arena, and it will clear the "Magic Invulnerability" debuff from the boss, and he will take damage normally. I believe the mechanics were the same, but you progress MUCH faster, especially with bristled DoTs. You can do this and just get the normal clear to progress the quest. If you are going for the Umbrella weapon, by not destroying the crystal, you are forced to only use physical abilities to damage the boss, and it takes forever. Much like any fight, it's just a matter of understanding the mechanics and its GG

Thank you so much Nanaki, now I can flex the umbrella with ya in our static!!

@@Banananaki I had Rush at like 5% I was panicking so badly but got lucky.
You've already cleared it, but for others reading this comment & struggling, Swiftcasting Loom and having it ready helps for any bad rush cycles.
@@trainer1997 YEah, I was too afraid to do that incase I teleported into one of them by accident xD
Awesome guide, I just got it done myself.
Thanks! Glad it was useful. Grats!
Thank you ,wow that was rough
Absolutely, glad it was helpful!
Excellent work. After queues died down last night I felt ballsy enough to try this and I got creamed lol
Yeah, I watched a video for the normal clear, and read up on what was needed for the umbrella. I took many tries, trust me lol.

Wish I’d thought to look this up. My first clear hit all the requirements EXCEPT not destroying the crystal 😭
Probably more impressive than not destroying the crystal tbh lol
@@Banananaki thank you :)

- Bristle + Breath of Magic, and Nightbloom for good DoT damage - HOLLUP does bristle affect the entire Nightbloom dot???? ALso congrats!!!

That's the smarter way to do it for sure lol.
Does elemental mastery mean use all elements on the boss? Like fire wind Etc?
That is correct. If you go to your blue spellbook and use the filter option on top of the spell icons, you can filter by element to make it easier to choose.
Better guide than liam
There is new spell where it applies a DoT on the boss with no expiration. If I apply that before boss becomes immune to magic will that persist?
Mortal Flame is considered magic and fire, so it should stop doing damage after the invulnerability. Haven't tested it though. Best bet is triple trident, phantom flurry, j kick, mountain breaker, and just a basic physical spell. Just don't lose your 6 elements in the process.
I thought it was beating the time again, what r the exact requirements for doing that achievement? I really want that umbrella!
No sprints, don't destroy the crystal on act 2, cast spells of each element. More info in description

Hi NANAKI! lol
Yooooooooooooo sup!
What a waste of time this fight is. With each new Masked Carnivale fight they add, it's less and less appealing to me as a casual gamer.
its more of a completionist thing anyway isnt it
