I used 3 vespas , vespa vxl 125 and 150 and vespa zx , so if you are ok with high price, worst service, least mileage, worst foot board, least pillion seat space…then go for it for pure looks and style and excellent suspension….
Yeah foot board looks very small and you can't keep any bags on the floor because of the hump. Just a question despite these issues why did u buy 3 Vespa.
There is nothing good except good look . believe me i own it since 2 years. problem i faced 1.start switch stopped working after 2 months 2. after riding 4 to 7 km it shopped randomnly and have to wait for 10 min to restart. 3. speedometer stopped after 1 year. 4.right left indicator stopped working after 1 year. 5. changed fuel pump spending huge amount which worked fine for 1 year 6 months again started restart prolem . It is not about cost . it is about performance .

It will primarily be using it for office commute in heavy Bangalore City traffic and for carrying groceries and household stuff weight over the weekend... so looking for a fuel efficient low maintenance scooter for females. It would be helpful if you could point me in the right direction for buying a pre-owned vehicle. Do we need to get it checked with a mechanic or just a test ride is good enough? In Bangalore we have a dedicated pre-owned vehicles market where they service and polish the vehicle to almost new scratch less look that will give a smooth test ride experience... so for an untrained eye like mine all vehicles look good to go. In that case how do I make an informed decision?

They even changed Fuel Pump once under warranty and now again they say that fuel pump seems faulty . Now warranty has lapsed and i fear up paying them thru my nose of issues. Trust me Parts are expensive andmost of the time not available . It is evidently a failure as they have only one Showroom and only 1 Service till date . Congratulations for giving a very honest review. I will elaborate on some of the Cons mentioned you. 1. My mileage is in single-digits, or at most 13 kmpl. For me, cost of petrol for taking the bike to the service center is more than the cost of servicing! 2. Authorized service center mechanics are not good. For my mileage issue, everytime they replace some part and tell me "Do din chala ke dekho, nahi solve hua toh waapas aa jaao". They cannot diagnose issues. They only do trial and error. 3. Spare parts are not available in open market. This means you are forced to depend on incompetent mechanics of their authorize service centre. 4. The authorized service center also does not have enough spare parts. On one ocassion, they did not have air filter element. So the service center told us "We have done rest of the service, we will get the air filter changed at the next service". 5. Compared to successful scooters like Activa, Dio, Access, Jupiter - Vespa is difficult to repair because of its construction. The mechanic has to dismantle more parts to repair a thing in Vespa. One should buy a Vespa only if each of the following conditions are satisfied: 1. Inability to get over the good-looks of Vespa 2. Ample of money to waste on petrol(as the mileage is less). 3. Not doing anything serious in life, so that he has ample time to take the bike to authorized service every few days. 4. Already has an Activa/other scooter at home(because Vespa will be lying in the garage most of the times due to lack of unavailabilty of spares or some other issues) I think: Because Vespa has a very small customer-base, it has to survive by milking or exploiting the few customers it has. The condition is so bad that Vespa cannot provide sufficient spare parts generously. Since the number of its customers is so less, what will Vespa do my producing so many spare parts? Their scooters dont sell in decent numbers, so who is going to buy the spare parts after all? Fir this reason, the company produces spare parts in small batches, may be once or twice an year. This may be the reason why one has to wait for days together to get the service part even at its authorized service center.

ITS VERY EXPENSIVE SERVICING THAN MY CAR TOO.... THEY ASK EVERY TIME TO CHANGE SPARE PARTS... EVEN NOT REQUIRED... NEAR 15K WITHIN 6 MONTHS.
