I actually think that EDM won the trade with the Devils though...they get a solid defensive D-man. Larsson started most of his shifts last season in the defensive zone. His minutes are not sheltered, and haven't been since Peter DeBoer was fired.

3 years later, and i still stand by the subban for weber trade. Weber is absolutely ripping it up, especially this year. When he's healthy, he's a beast, so glad to have him on the team

+DK 4Life Definitely, I see that the trade is lopsided but as a Devils fan I'm just looking at the fact that we might move from last place on team scoring, and the fact that we have Greene, Severson, Merle I'm happy that we could have still a good defense and score more. The oiler half doesn't worry me since we didn't give up much😂

devils s defence is crappy. severson is an offensive defenseman and he is kind of a defensive liability. greene is defensive defenseman who gets like 6 points. Jon merril might have became a top 2 defenseman but for some reason his development stopped and he might get traded. he hasn't been qualified yet. Steve santini is a soon to be rookie defensive defenseman who might become a 2nd pairing dman. schlemko and Moore are 3rd pairing guys so we don't have any good dmen anymore. if had got sergachev at the draft sure but we got a center and we drafted 2 overage dmen in the last two rounds.
Steve: Tampa might have to lose a guy or 2.
Tampa Bay: Instead of losing a guy or 2, they just stay 18 million over the cap instead of losing a guy or 2 due to cap
The Funny thing about this video is that it is all about the Boston Bruins. For one Chiarelli fleeced someone besides the Bruins and for another Montreal traded away Subban the Bruin killer. This is a great day for Boston fans.

I remember it like it was yesterday....I had just gotten off work and I checked twitter while waiting for my ride home and i saw the news, and almost broke down.
Still remember this day lol was just waking up from a nap and my girlfriend of the time told me my phone was ringing and as she gave it to me I saw all of the chaos... Safe to say I never got out of bed that fast
Went to the movies at 3:00 pm. Walked out at 5:00 pm to see the NHL had exploded
I was at the movies with my girlfriend about to watch Independence Day: Resurgence when these trades broke. I was all hyped up and jittery and laughy and she was looking at me funny during the previews 😂

5 years from now, we're in the playoffs and looking back on this thankful we didn't sign him for 10-12 million. Wayyy too much of a risk, pointless too seeing that we have our own home-grown star Matthews coming along.

Taylor Hall for Adam Larson: wasn’t worth it(Hall won MVP) but the Devils screwed it up by trading him for bulk goods to the Coyotes. Unimpressive bulk goods at that. Larsson is still an Oiler and a good defenceman for them
Subban for Weber: Weber is the Habs captain and Subban got his large contract dumped onto the Devils and he hasn’t been even close to good this year. Did I also forgot to mention he was traded by Montreal for locker room issues and then became a cap casualty in Nashville for the same thing. Weber’s contract is still bad, not in money but in term
