It’s not that easy, I’m finishing up my degree in criminal justice and I haven’t had any luck anywhere.

I see some of your officer running cross draw tasers and some support hand. What up with that?

Its preference. When you go through taser training, you find out what’s more comfortable with you. And you train with either or

@ copy. The mistake of fact shootings and other misuse of the tasers are all cross draw, strong hand related. I want my strong hand free and you can’t aim tasers like pistols anyway. Cops miss too much with firearms and don’t train enough with ECDs and the success rate is lower than it should. An agency should have a set SOP/TTP on this not preference but best practice.

@@Platoon_Guide yeah I agree with you. I know I’ve said it’s preference. But I find the cross draw extremely uncomfortable. And like you mentioned regarding the strong hand, it’s nice manipulating the taser with support hand to get use to it and it becomes second nature. Otherwise, under pressure, a lot of pressure, only using your strong hand will make it difficult to perform when needed with all your equipment

@@Sam-y8h6r a lot of cops only train or practice when told. Science shows us that is not enough.

@@Platoon_Guidedictating an SOP for equipment sounds like a conventional military approach. It’s not a good idea. As long as it’s within the department’s policy, preferences for comfort and practicality for performance should be paramount.

Lots of safety concerns in this video giving your very personal mental health done by city police but also suggestive body language detection . The "others " comment/ example gives additional information about issues. They seem overwhelmed with personal reflection and that's not well for public safety.
