  • Hello,
    Thank you for watching my video on "pre-pooing" with coconut oil. I hope you enjoyed and learn some helpful information.
    Natural hair needs MOISTURE! Natural hair thrives when it has an adequate amount of moisture and "pre-pooing" helps ensure proper hydration for the hair.
    Pre-poo is applying a conditioning treatment to the hair prior to shampooing /washing to add moisture to the hair follicles.
    Pretty much everything that you put on your hair before shampooing will be washed away. So, it may seem pointless of doing this treatment but, the hair washing process can be very stressful to the hair. Also, there is much manipulation that is done to the hair during the washing, deep conditioning, and styling routine. Doing a "pre-poo" treatment will help ensure that the hair cuticles will be healthier and the hair will be prepared for the manipulation done on a daily basis.
    *Benefits of Pre-Poo Natural Hair*
    1. Pre-Poo makes the hair more manageable
    2. Pre-Poo makes it easier to detangle your natural hair
    3. It helps reduce breakage of your natural hair
    4. Makes the hair softer
    5. Pre-poo helps to restore lost moisture to the hair
    6. Happy scalp
    7. Healthier hair overall :-)

    I like to leave my pre poo on overnight. OMG! the results that I get the next day after the pre poo is washed out my co wash is done and then my deep conditioning treatment mask on top of all of that...my hair looks and feels like brand new hair! just like a baby's hair. since pre pooing along with the rest of my weekly hair regimen my hair is super smooth super shiny and super duper soft out of this world. LOL really. I love the pre poo method.

    You are beautiful first of all. Do you use Alo vera. Or any other oils? Also how often do you color your hair? Do you have a video on that? If i decide to color my hair will the oil damage it? Can i use the oil same dayvi color my hair? Can I use any shampo?

  • @shainastone730

    I appreciate you 😘 I know you must have said this a million times but how much of each oil is in your oil mixture. I have Castor,coconut and olive oil... equal parts?

    • @jeanettejbeauty6374
      @jeanettejbeauty6374  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you :-) I really eye ball it, Castor oil is a heavy oil and coconut is lighter and even lighter than olive oil. So if I typically use more of a heavier oil (if I feel like my hair is a little dryer than normal) than I won't use a lot of a lighter oil. Same vise vera. I hope that helps.

    I figured this out once I went natural. During transitioning period was the worst. Now completely natural the dryness is real. So I have to pre poo eveytime on my thick low porosity hair. I love this video. What porosity are u?

    I enjoyed your video and your make-up is pretty! I been natural going on 16 months and my hair seem to have stop growing I'm at 6 inches. DUE to not keeping my hair moisturized as I should. I have an ? When do i I do the loc method.
    Here's my wash day steps.
    1. Pre-poo (just started this It is new for me) 30 mins
    2.wash hair
    3.deep conditions
    Wash that out
    4. Leave in condition
    My ? Is do I do the loc method after number 4 or with number 4?

      Depending on you hair the l.o.c method or the l.c.o will work for you greatly. The l.o.c method is with the leave in step. If you have thicker more kinky hair I would do the l.c.o method and also put more water in your hair as this a great moisturizer for your hair.

    if you put the oil in ur hair and the oil stops the shampoo from stripping your hair wouldn't it stop the conditioner from going into your hair too

    • @jeanettejbeauty6374
      @jeanettejbeauty6374  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, the oils help to condition your hair an prevent stripping your hair from the natural oils.

    Is it also advisable to shampoo your hair to remove build up before you pre poo? as I suffer from dandruff alot.

    • @jeanettejbeauty6374
