Now a days, we rarely see these wooden plates at homes. Let's treasure the rich tradition of us. My grandmother's wooden plate (osii-khe) is deep dark red brown in colour, may be a century old or even older, it has been passed down from my grandfather's parent. One interesting fact is, my grandma never washes the plate with water or detergent, instead she carefully caresses the plate with her index finger all over the inside of the plate after every meal. May be it is lasting long for not exposing to water or detergent.
