Hi, I have watched this video several times, I am planning to use this fuel dock in 2022, instead of having to work out what, where, how? I will approach understanding this dock. I'm sure it will be less stressful because of this video. Thanks.

That is great to hear Steve. Any questions just let me know. Also we will work on getting more fuel docks filmed like this so that we can all know what the options are out there.

Pro tip: have a 20 liter fuel canister with you. Fill it up during your week of charter. Refuel boat before returning to the marina and entirely skip this horror. Served us well, even on a 55 footer with a 75HP turbo Volvo Penta. Also, after all, you’re out in a SAILING boat. Enjoy!

      Thanks for the tip René.
Interesting theory that one: If people are flying in should they add this to their luggage? Or should they buy this when they arrive, spend 20EUR on the canister then leave it there? Sometimes there is a diesel canister on the charter yachts (1 in 5).
I would love be in a situation where we only use 20L of fuel in a week! It is just not the nature of the majority of sailing holidays these days. A lot of motoring, charging batteries, running generators and getting places when it is calm!
But for the die hard sailors who sail everywhere, great plan!

@@45DegreesSailing I did not come up with this idea. It was the guy at the charter base. And yes, The canister was already on board. I would not want to explain this at the check-in counter at the airport. 😅 Also, I must admit that we were on a trip with small kids. So we didn’t cover long distances. I like your recommendation of going to the gas station one day before returning. Maybe sometimes a combination would work? Refill halfway through the trip when there’s a good chance to do so and then use the canister for the rest. Anyway, thanks for the great videos and keep the content coming!

Actually the info on the port marker is not true. This is very confusing. This marker is the port marker for the entry channel into Trogir. If you go around it as said in this video you are going to be in very shallow water and risk to run aground. It happened to me with a 50ft … I didn’t run aground just by chance (I was lucky) but I found myself with 20cm of water under the keel which is not really comfortable… so yes, cut in between the dock and the marker. The true marina Baotic markers are elsewhere.

The 'true marina baotić marker' is on the end of the pier - you can see it in the video.
There is 3-5m of water within 45m of the large marker. The suggestion is simply to avoid tight congestion and collisions as there are many yachts coming through here too fast with little vision when there are boats stacked on the pier.
You definitely do not want to keep heading towards the shore when passing here - as always refer to the chart as it is marked clearly there, and watch your depth sounder if you have one.

Haha… you are great but the remark on the port lateral marker is not correct!! The port lateral of the marina is the red pole on the dock … the round red floater is the channel marker for the channel that leads to Trogir … if you turn around the floating marker you risk seriously to run aground … you MUST pass to the right of the floating marker … leave it to your right … it’s bad signaling, very confusing but this is the way to go if you do not want to risk to ran aground

Yeh I realised this the next time I sailed in! 🤣
