    Am not a Liverpool fan but huge respect to Dave Waller for making so much footage available for us.

    Felt sorry for Kenny when he left. could tell he never got over the trauma of Hillsborough and the aftermath of that disaster. Well done Liverpool on Championship number 19 when they do wrap it up think this current team could go on to achieve further success

      it was clear by this time that Liverpool were on the decline...and dalglish knew it... hillsborough too took its toll on him, and the club as a whole...That's why he left

    The commentator turned out wrong on both accounts.

    Failing to adequately replace Lawrenson & Hansen exposed underlying problems in the team. Recruitment was mostly woeful from '91 - 99.

      And the strange decision not to play and then sell Peter Beardsley who was still smashing in lots of PL goals for Newcastle well into his 30s was a massive error

    Between Bruce n Glen they both cost us that season
    With the emergence of real pacy strikers our defence couldn’t keep up

  • @mrkipling2201

    The last season of that era of dominance for Liverpool. They probably would have won the league in 90/91 if it wasn’t for injuries. Defensive lapses didn’t help either. You could see how much they missed Hansen.

    Kenny resigned because of the all the pain of Hillsboro.
    That tragedy hurt our club so much in those years.
    If Kenny had stayed at Anfield for longer, I'm sure we would have won more titles.

      Bollocks you beat everton in the fa cup final n tanked West ham 5 0 a few weeks later. You wasn't good enough to stop arsenal

    • @DaveWallerLFC
      @DaveWallerLFC  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @hughesyplays Thanks for your Alan Davies levels of sensitivity here. Also you're re-writing history. The West Ham game was on the Tuesday night after the FA Cup Final, with the Arsenal game on the Friday, not a few weeks later. Arsenal had a good team, but it seems common sense to suggste the fixture pile up and emotional strain on Liverpool players played some part in the final game. Not to mention that this was only the last game of the season because ITV picked it like that when LIverpool's fixtures were rearranged after Hillsborough. If that game had been on 23 April as scheduled I don't think Arsenal would have won 2-0.
